I was just stating I'd prefer Cincy for the fans and I bet some players wouldn't mind a full stadium of fans over an empty stadium too. But, regardless, I doubt Cincy is looking at tue-ins for CUSA with this bowl.

With an expanded membership in both the AAC and SBC, it would make sense to have ties to this potential bowl with those 2 conferences. CUSA with 9 or 10 teams instead of 14, will have fewer bowls than the 7 guarantees we've had.

It is also easier (and cheaper) for players’ parents to get to Cincinnati than the Bahamas.

Hopefully it all falls through. Bowl games are supposed to be a real reward for a good season, not a participation trophy.

No, they are not. They are meant to promote a city and/or business, and so the bowls want to invite the teams mostly like to provide attendance and viewers, which is usually the most successful teams. The bowls don't care about rewarding anybody. They would rather have a 8-4 Michigan than a 11-1 Louisiana Tech. More butts in seats, more viewers.

Agree with this last part. Getting to be that way.

That's what they were for from the start. Do you think the 1902 Rose Bowl was held as a reward for a good season for somebody? The Citrus Bowl was started because not enough teams were getting their deserved reward?

Cincinnati is not trying to start a new bowl for any reason other than benefits to the city and area. They don't care how deserving or undeserving the invitees are as long as they can put butts in seats and/or in front of TVs.

Exactly what college football needs. more bowl games. Pretty soon we'll have enough for every team in FBS.

Soon we'll be inviting FCS teams to fill slots. Just watch. Give it a little time.

Probably, but first we will have to go through the progressive reducing of win standards from 6 to 5 to 4 to...

RE: Cincinnati Chili Bowl Game
For every two schools that move up to FBS, it generally means the likelihood of one more FBS school reaching the 6 win total. It's just math.

Since the SBC is adding one and CUSA is adding two, one more bowl is inevitable if the continuing goal is for all 6 or more win teams to play in a bowl.
