Cincinnati Chili Bowl Game
This could be a great tie in for CUSA 4.0. A lot of the eastern teams fans could easily drive this one.

Altho that'd be an ideal location for WKU fans, I doubt they'd even consider a tie in with CUSA.

This is a 26,000 seat outdoor soccer stadium. It sounds perfect for a tie-in with the MAC and C-USA. Will ESPN block the MAC (or Sunbelt or AAC) since the game is proposed to be broadcast on the CW?

Great. Another bad bowl for two more bad teams.

Maybe 5-7 teams.

It’s about a seven hour drive to Cincinnati from Jacksonville so I’d go if we were in it. Same distance from Atlanta so Kennesaw people could make it. Also same distance from Liberty. So any of the eastern members could easily drive to it.

What kind of crappy conference would want this bowl game? I hope no one partners with it. Why are these games continuously approved by the NCAA? Just say 'no.'

I doubt this game ever happens. The Bowl Association will be meeting with the FBS commisioners in March to revamp the bowls. One proposal is to make 7 wins needed to be bowl eligible. That will reduce the number of total bowls, not increase them. Cincy has probably missed the boat for a bowl game.

I believe there were 19 teams with fewer than 7 wins who played in bowls this year. That'd mean probably 9 or 10 fewer bowls if that proposal passes. I'm doubtful the political and economic forces would be happy with that impact. But....I do agree that there are too many bowls and it's watered down the importance of going to a bowl game.

Unless economics are factored in. The Bahamas Bowl is a drain and a logistical pain in the butt that no one attends. Sure, it's the Bahamas, but it's much easier to get to Cincy. Who really knows what is going to happen.

I'd agree with that. Cincy over Bahamas any day.

Why would they have it in a soccer stadium when they have beautiful historic Nippert Stadium? That’s just crazy!! It’s one of the best places to watch a football game in the country.

It’s irrelevant since it’s never going to happen.

I'd say it's being driven by the city group pushing for economic impact using a city facility rather than a university stadium.

I bet the players would want the opposite. Most of them have never been to the Bahamas for five days.

Most have probably never been to Cincinnati either, but I do agree most players would choose the Bahamas and the straw market

That's what's exciting about the Hawaii and Bahamas Bowls. They're destinations. No fans typically make the trip, but the schools taking part probably love it.

RE: Cincinnati Chili Bowl Game
There's no doubt many players would prefer a tropical destination. That's a given. They're young.

I was just stating I'd prefer Cincy for the fans and I bet some players wouldn't mind a full stadium of fans over an empty stadium too. But, regardless, I doubt Cincy is looking at a tie-in for CUSA with this bowl.
