That league is like a UNT fan's wet dream at present. And then they'll join it and hate it instantly and talk about how they want to play in a league with Texas and Texas Tech instead. Because...UNT fans.

I would be sick to my stomach if we joined a conference with UTRGV, Tarleton, SFA, SHSU, and ACU. I think that the other current FBS schools would feel the same.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. One of those schools doesn't even have a football program yet and won't for a few years...

As a UCA fan I have to say this is pretty shocking. Our football facilities are pretty decent at the FCS level but our stadium is far below FBS seating, not to mention I don't think we could get 15k people to go to a game.

Seriously though, what a joke of a ten team list. The WAC becoming an FBS conference again honestly could've been not so terrible with the right CUSA/FCS reshuffle. Still not fully good top to bottom, but not this much of a joke if there was one conference stretching up the middle of the country from Texas to Montana and the Dakotas while the other is more of an SBC-esque footprint.

Instead we'll have one conference with only a small handful of teams that should be FBS, another with zero teams that should be FBS, and the few deserving FCS schools left are still sitting in the MVFC and Big Sky.

The big news is that Ryan McGee is going to have to do an ESPN Bottom 20.

Why have rules regulating FBS minimums if you don't enforce them?

They should do away with the rules and restrictions favoring some and not others and allow universities to compete with whatever they have to offer. Put in place a format that inhibits participation in bowls using w/l record as well as strength of schedule based on final standings.

The problem solves itself transferring the risk back to the universities. A free for all!

I don’t believe it’ll happen. At worst 2-3 of those schools move up to C-USA and that’s about it. (EKU, SFA, Tarleton St).

The league hasn't picked a name but has narrowed the options. In the founding documents, it's referred to as "ASUN-WAC Football"
