He took a paycut to go to UC.
Again less stress, much better job for him there than Louisville.

Obviously I am biased but I disagree it is “less stress”. He’s following the best coach in UC FB history. Expectations are through the roof. And FWIW, I don’t know if there is such a thing as a low stress job in this day of NIL, transfer portal, etc. except for the service academies and at the FCS Level.

RE: Louisville’s Scott Satterfield to Cincinnati
I think a couple of thank you's need to be made.
First off, thanks to Coach Satt for rebuilding our roster after Bobby Petrino crapped all over it. We now have balance amongst the positions, and our roster is ready to take the next step going forward.
Secondly, many MANY thanks to Cincinnati for paying us $3.5 million to take a coach we were luke warm about at best. We avoid the messy buyout if we were to fire him (likely to happen next year), AND get some extra cash to help us pay the buyout of our next coach.
Cincy fans, I know you may not know what we are feeling, but remember Tommy Tuberville?? Well imagine if someone paid you $3.5 million dollars to have him STOP coaching at your school. You'd probably feel pretty good about that. THAT'S how we feel right now. So .... again .... many MANY thanks for helping us out of this jam.
Should be a spicy Fenway Bowl ... with a dose of Keg of Nails added in.

Our recruiting class is going to suffer but thats what happens when you change coaches. Ohio State going hard after our top RB recruit.
In the long run, we will be fine. [unlike basketball, ugh]

Let’s play the bowl game at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincy and not in the cold and snow in Boston! 50,000 fans much better than 5600. Louisville can leave its recruiting class in Cincinnati as well since we just lost a bunch of ours to Wisconsin.
No it's not
Satterfield thinks so.
When your fans start staying home in droves, you’ll know why. Whoever your rival is in The Big 12 you better start telling him now. The guy simply doesn’t understand rivalry games.
I hope it works out for y’all

RE: Louisville’s Scott Satterfield to Cincinnati
Some things for UC fans to know. These comments are from ACC coaches before the last two seasons.
Louisville
Season 2021
"It’s too early to throw up a red flag, but there are some alarming things you can see from the outside."
"They had a very interesting 2020. It seems like they’re losing more players and coaches than you’d expect. From a pure evaluation standpoint, they’ve lost a lot of their most talented guys and we haven’t seen or heard anything about them competing in recruiting in that state."
"The easy way to look at it is that they’re running the same offense and basically the same defense they had at App, but now they’re playing teams with equal or better talent, which almost never happened there. They’re not used to seeing a counter-punch, and it shows."
"The biggest issues here seem off the field, I think they haven’t really established who they are as a culture with those players. I think they tried to bring Appalachian State to Louisville, and that hasn’t worked out. Scott [Satterfield] talking to South Carolina didn’t help, either. When this program is good it’s because they bring in a lot of raw talent and let them play. He’s trying to create something different.”
Season 2022
"It's win-now time. Other than Georgia Tech, this is the job that people think is going to come open in the league. You watch the coaching and player turnover stack up, and it seems like they've drifted from what made [Scott Satterfield] successful at Appalachian State."
"Offensively, he's still going to be calling plays, so I'm skeptical how different things are going to look with Lance [Taylor] as OC. They don't seem settled on what they want to do with Malik [Cunningham]. It's hard to figure out their identity, but it's also hard to see what they want it to be."
"Defensively, they're very average at best. They don't pressure much; they don't have anyone up front who bothers you."
"Probably the thing that jumps out most is how much they've worked the portal in both directions and how different that is from what Scott came from at App. Even as a G5, they had a system of developing guys, building a very specific culture, and the last few years it seems like they're always scrambling to rebuild that roster and define themselves."
"I think the school and the head coach figured out they're not a great fit for each other a while ago, and there hasn't been a way to create a break yet. He's tried to get out and it didn't work, and there have been issues at the school that have probably bought him some time up until now. Unless they surprise a lot of people, this feels like the end."

I haven't seen a single UofL fan upset about this, and that should tell you something.

That’s probably the biggest difference in Satterfield leaving over every other coach who has moved on since Howard. There was always a few sad to see the coach leave. Not in this case.
I talked to my buddy in the Louisville ticket office yesterday. He said since the news broke that Satterfield was leaving the phones had been ringing none stop. Louisville fans wanting to get their season tickets back.
It’s crazy how many Louisville fans simply didn’t like the guy
