Praying for the victims and their families of the shooting Sunday night at UVA.

The alleged shooter was a former UVA football player. I sadly suspect some of the victims may be associated with the program as well.

Awful news. JMU2004 said over on the SBC board that he's hearing it was all football players that were shot.

Unbelievable and not surprising at the same time. America has a problem. This is absolutely gutting.

Two Virginia football players, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry, were victims of a shooter on campus late Sunday night, it has been confirmed by their families.

According to a source, the two had been on a drama class field trip to Washington, D.C., earlier in the day and had been targeted, among others, by suspect Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a former walk-on running back on the 2018 UVA team. Jones is a student at UVA and as of 9:30 a.m. was allegedly still at large. He is said to be armed and dangerous.

WR Devin Chandler is the 3rd fatality.

all 3 were current members. cops finally caught Jones.

This just on the surface seems really shady......suspect and all victims related to the football team. This does not seem random but rather targeted.

This was revenge, jealousy or some other off the chart stupid reason to throw away several lives

Surprised they were able to take him in to custody. Also, given where the suspect is from I would have to guess some Dukes may have played with/against him or would know of him.

I read that Jones was formerly investigated for hazing and failure to report a firearm on campus. It sounds quite premeditated and they were targeted. Sad.

Yes, I saw that too, that Jones was "known to police." It's, sadly, a phrase we hear too often and too late.

A bit surprised to hear the team practiced on Monday. If they cancel Saturdays game, their next home game is actually against us next September.

Really horrible.
No words for how terrible this is for the friends and family members of those they lost or were injured.
Times like this go beyond sports and rivalries.
I have some things I want to say in regards to that, but I will leave it at that. (Not involving anyone here thank goodness)

That's odd considering Wisconsin canceled practice as one of the victims was a Badger before transferring to UVA.

Per Channel 29 in Charlottesville, they had a team meeting Monday morning but no practice. Coaches wanted to talk to the entire team at once and give the details that they could.
