Not sure I understand this comment, unless it's just another pro-EP post?

Beats me on what the answer is on how to attack ECU. They held Memphis to 84 yards rushing, Tulane 41 yards and UCF to 130. But then they just gave up 244 yards rushing to BYU. They still seem to be more susceptible to the pass as those 3 aforementioned games they gave up 407, 350, 296 yards passing.

Gino just needs to find a way to get creative and mix it up (I know that may be asking a lot). And the D backfield needs to come ready to play. Unless the D-line can get some pressure on Ahlers, they are in for a LONG night.

Just that I think it could come down to QB play and I like theirs better especially in clutch situations.

How many pick 6's has he thrown against the bearcats in the years he's been at ECU. I can think of 2, but their could be more.

Not the same D

The last 4 starting QBs UC gas faced had to leave the game due to injury. Now I am not wishing bodily harm to Ahlers, my point is our D is going to get to him. He is not very mobile, he makes BB look like Des.

In addition to the sixth year QB, Holton Ahlers, they also have the AAC leading rusher, Michael Keaton, averaging 107 YPG. This game is scary.

Navy, you had to learn an unfortunate lesson, a painful one that you can take back with you on your boats. You tried to go toe to toe with the Bearcats and now you have nothing but shame. That’s too bad for you.

But now I’m focused on a new contender. One that people tell me is tough and ready to climb the ladder. But listen to me ECU, you better not misstep because the fall from that ladder can be painful. And the problem now for you is Cincinnati will be standing above you ready to push you off!

And no powder blue on the black uni's like we saw weeks ago from "Space University", LOL.

The all black is a great look. Sadly, schools with every other color in the rainbow have decided to use black uniforms now to attempt to look as cool as our Bearcats.

Ivan's 8 sacks in a season is 9th most in school history. With another 1/2 sack, he will join Antwan Peek and Trent Cole for the #7 spot. The school record is 13 set by Anthony Hoke in 2007. I think 13 is possible for Ivan, especially if there is the additional CCG game.

Tyler Scott

42 Receptions
686 Yards
8 TDs
16.3 Yard per catch

Barring injury, Tyler will finish in the Top 10 in receiving yards in a season (Anthony McClung- 908 is in the #10 spot, Mardy owns the school record (1,276 yards). He will also finish in the top Top 10 for receiving TDs in a single season (4 players tied for 9), Bones Barnett has the school record 13 TD receptions (2007).

ECU is inconsistent. I am not sure if NC State is any better than we are-- the record is the same and their schedule and results are suspect. They had to come from behind to beat maybe the worst Virginia Tech team since the 1980s, 22-21. ECU also lost to Navy and Memphis. Memphis was able to sling the rock- passing for 407 yards. I don't see why Ben could not have a 300+ yard throwing day against the Pirates.

The Pirates beat Memphis in 4OT. The loss to Navy was bizarre. Since then the Pirates have been building momentum. I'm not sure if Nippert will be tougher than ECU 's night road win at BYU in front of 60,000, but it should be good. Looking forward to a great game. 04-cheers

That's what everyone says. UC has won 31 straight at home. Nippert might not have 60K+ seats, but it gets very hostile due to how the stadium sits among the surrounding buildings and structures.

Looking forward to a great game as well.

Oh yes, I'm well aware of the win streak. The stars will have to align and the Pirates will have to catch every break to come out with a victory. Since the Bearcats will be leaving I'm even praying for a little home cooking from the referees, haha.

You're a great poster mikeinoki and a reasonable fan. In fact, I find most ECU fans are great compared to some other schools in the conference LOL. Looking forward to a great game. This is absolutely the best Pirates squad you guys have had in some time. I still think this game is ours to win mainly because we're playing at home. if this was in Greenville I'd probably have some stomach churning already. I'm keeping an eye on the weather forecast too as that may factor in the game planning/game time adjustments. Best of luck friend.

I was wondering about the influence from the remnants of Nicole. Looks like the rain will end sometime in the late afternoon but the temps are going to be higher from a high of 60 to about 50 around kickoff. The winds are going to pick up 10 mph+ and the temps will continue to fall to the mid 40s by 11 PM. At least that is the forecast I'm looking at.
