In my heart, if Lyke were AD, EMU men’s basketball would be ascending and hovering at the top of the conference.
If I had $$$$, my first philanthropic donation to EMU would be a new AD
He may not have hired CC, but the big money for the SAPC left when Lyke and co. did.
Though it was delayed and ended up being smaller than originally mapped out to be, it still got done and immediately put us at the top of the league as far as facilities go.
I'm not saying we build a statue for the guy, but he's been adequate.
He is kinda bad at his job
The SAPC is kind of a failure (Not a failure for athletics but a budgetary one)
Let me explain
The building cost $20 million
$8 million was to come from the general fund
Then the rest from donations
That's $12 million in donations
Scott got only $6 million in donations
Why?
Not because he didn't try
But because Power2Change pulled their $6 million out
Why?
Because they didn't feel confident in him
One member of the Power2Change foundation said "Heather's departure is leaving me very concerned on many fronts as we feel very limited in our/my contacts/details at the University. Not at all comfortable here with the chain of events and timing,”
BTW that quote is from an EMU Graduate
The money did eventually come just not from Power2Change
GameABOVE paid the rest (God Bless Them)
If EMU Grads don't have trust in him why should I
Now I was a 'supporter' until this new contract
It is the straw that broke the camel's back
