One of the uglier games of the season. And that's saying something.

We almost blew it BUT came away with the win in the end. It was a must-win.

Think if we can win Saturday we could guarantee a .500 record. We will have a talent advantage in each of our last three games.

Hint: I saw that two teams, had played one less game than the others, so I went to the MAC website.

What a classic Castro-era EMU WBB game. Come out like gangbusters, go up double-digits, then get absolutely handled the rest of the way. Adjustments just aren't our thing.

Eke has been really fun to watch, and even though Skanes didn't have the greatest game today she's still a stud. 1,000 points is quite an accomplishment.

We have talent all over the court.
No depth. No adjustments. Their coach said we have the best backcourt in the league and yet here we sit.

Scoreboard watch is on. Finishing tied with WMU is fine. Buffalo crushing BG was not an expected result, and finishing tied with them would complicate things.

We go 2-0 in the final two and it shouldn't be an issue.

No problem Carl. She didn't notice and hears worse from me upon occasion. We had a grandsons birthday yesterday in GR which is why we didn't make it to the final men's home game. See you hopefully at the spring game.

Very little analysis after last night - - fell behind early and never found the right way to move ahead. Getting out-rebounded really surprised me.

And here we are: One game to go. Absolutely MUST-WIN for the women to have a chance to make it to Cleveland.

Final Day Breakdown
- Akron's game doesn't matter really. Based on what I can figure they're in no matter what. They have the advantage in all tiebreaks.
- Miami takes on Ball State. If they lose we finish tied and we win the tiebreaker. The game is in Oxford, where the RedHawks have a 9-6 record. The Cardinals won by 30 last time they played.
- Western and Buffalo is an interesting conundrum. If Western wins we need a Miami loss and we're in. If Buffalo wins we finish in a three-way tie with them and WMU, which then pushes tiebreak to best record in games among the tied teams. In this case we'd be 3-1, Buffalo 2-2 and Western 1-3.
- If Miami loses and Buffalo wins that'd add them to the mix, which is good for us. We go to 4-1. Buffalo 3-3, Miami 2-2, Western 1-4.
- If we somehow end up with a five-way tie at 7-11 we'd have: Akron 5-2, EMU 4-3, Buffalo 4-4, Miami 2-4, Western 2-4

Basically it all boils down to this: WIN and root for Ball State. If Akron, Western and Miami win our season is over no matter what we do.

If we can't win in Athens against the worst team in the league who is just 2-10 at home this season PLEASE, Weatherbee, just meet the bus when they return and hand Castro his walking papers.

Steve, all I can say is that guy is a piece of work. EMU is so lucky to be stuck with him.

EMU on the offensive boards being out-rebounded led to NI scoring 5 more points than EMU on second chance points. NI took twice as many three's as EMU that led to No scoring 5 more three's then EMU did. EMU instead chose to shoot mostly two's and even though they shot very well at 59 percent and NI shot but 45 percent on two's, EMU only took 5 foul shots (made 3 FT's ) to BG taking 17 foul shots (made 12 Ft's). BG's advantage going to the foul line more often than EMU negated EMU's shooting better on two's.

EMU HC Castro is not good teaching individual skills as his forwards far too often drive to the hoop with their heads down. Should be up so they could see if the have a clear path to the hoop. As a result, players either commit a charge or lose their dribble. It's why EMU committed 3 more turnovers per game more than opponents do, and go to the foul-line less than their conference opponents. EMU has some good players but individual player skill-sets are not where they should be.

I've watched about half of EMU's MAC games. EMU averages three more turnovers per game than opponents do in conference play. . That's a huge margin and makes it difficult to win games. A higher turnover rate is a alarm bell going off that tells you that the coaching of individual player skill-sets are not good. Do you see something else?

One year makes recruiting almost impossible! Yes, he made the MAC tournament, and the men didn't, but unless he brings in all transfers, or JUCOs, good luck recruiting any high school players! Either offer him 3 years, or don't renew his contract!
