UNT has played 3 decent games (UTEP, FAU, & LA Tech). One mediocre game (Texas Southern). 4 bad games (SMU, UNLV, Memphis, & UTSA). And, one outstanding game (WKU). I just can say the WKU win is the new reality for UNT football. For me personally, I need to see North Texas repeat that level of play for the rest of the season, in a bowl game, & against some respectable AAC level competition. Until that happens, I'll remain skeptical.

It probably would not have been for Jacksonville St. So count your blessing.

Middle frustrates the @#&* out of Raiders Fans. Some players appeared top flight against Miami and UTEP. The week off (after the butt kicken' we got from Western) came at the right time. MT goes as far as our 5'11" QB, (often porous)Offensive line, and (frequently asleep) Secondary carries us. Only Defensive line play is solid. MT is favored in 3 of 4 remaining games. We should win out and go 8-4. But history is a preview to our future. I bet we lose 2 out of 4. Stockstill is now 105 wins and 102 losses over 17 years as MT HC. So, look for the Raiders to end up 6-6 at end of regular season.

No one was talking about Jax State's prospects against them. We're still an FCS team for heaven's sake.
The discussion was about the CUSA teams who have somewhat disappointing records this season. Having those teams on the conference schedule would've given several *current* CUSA teams at least another win or two.

4-4 is better than I could’ve imagined at any point before or in the early goings of the season. There’s still a chance we become bowl eligible which is insane. Things are looking up. Our QB has been solid and is getting better every week. Defense has improved. I don’t see us beating UNT this week but if we can somehow close the year with wins against 2 of MTSU/UTEP or those insufferable Owls up north than this season would be a huge success.
Relative to expectations, FIU is doing phenomenal this season. FIU, along with UConn, were absolute rebuilds from the ground up this season and both have managed to get 4 wins thus far. Coach Mac looks to have FIU on the path up. Looked like the season started rough because a lack of experience from the young players. Seems they’ve gotten in their groove finally. Congrats!!! I’m hoping y’all make a bowl this season, if there’s any group of fans that deserve it, it’s you guys

On the other hand, FIU beat Bryant, NMSU, and the bottom two teams in the C-USA. I'd like to see some quality wins from them. I still favor FAU over them but, it seems, they may make us work for it.

This is true. I would imagine we’ll be underdogs in all our remaining games and I think that’s fair. FAU more than likely beats us. Regardless with the way we started the year, all 3 FBS wins have come as a surprise to me. Think it’s been a combo of improved play, player development, players developing chemistry (we had an insane amount of turnover after Butch), and yeah bad competition.

New AD probably deserves some praise, as well. Things are probably ran much better now that you guys finally got rid of that Garcia albatross.

Littrell doing what he has done for 7 years. Beating mediocre teams, losing to OOC opponents and good teams, especially when away. So pretty meh. If we had consistent QB play and weren't burned so often on the back end, we'd be a lot better.
We should beat FIU. No idea on UAB and Rice. I think we end the year 7-5 with a no name bowl against a MAC team that beats us by 20 and we have a new coach next year.

As surprising as these past couple wins have been, I won’t be surprised to see FIU regress back to a losing streak to close the season. This seems to happen a lot with young teams where they’ll gain confidence and win a couple then get overconfident and go back to losing big.
I’ll wait until year three for Coach Mac to judge what he is doing.

I think Helton has underachieved for the 2nd year in a row and 3 out of his 4 seasons at Western. Its very clear to me that the offensive problems Western had in his first couple seasons is also the same problems Western has shown vs any team with a pulse this season.
So while I dont think he's an awful coach I'm hoping UAB comes after him since he has ties to that schools. Please UAB come get him.
Hell if that happens I dont think the Western AD can screw this up for 3 out of 3 hires.

A kick in the balls
This was supposed to be our best and most talented team to date and the date has passed and the milks gone bad.
Same play calling has become more predictable than a Watson Brown draw play.
Penalties, Penalties, PENALTIES
More turnovers than a bad night on a bad mattress.
Was gonna say that we at least play well at home, and we do, but we still lost to the more than likely CC this year and killed the undefeated home win streak.
Time out and clock management are so bad our QB had a temper tantrum on the field because our staff couldn't get plays out.
Just ready for this season to be over so I can look forward to a coaching hire and next season. Go Blazers
