RE: 2022-2023 Bubas Cup Standings
There are three sports in which the points I awarded are different from the points the Sun Belt office awarded. In women's golf, ULM and Texas State had tied after regulation, so I awarded them each 12.5 points. ULM won the playoff so the Sun Belt gave them 13 points, Texas State 12. I have made the adjustment in my final calculations.
In women's tennis, Texas State, Louisiana and ULM finished with 3-8 conference records, thus tying for sixth. This would give them 5 points each. For some reason, the Sun Belt standings are showing Texas State with a 4-8 conference record, which puts them ahead of LA and ULM, thus giving them 6 points, and LA and ULM 4.5. The problem with that is the schedule is only 11 matches. Texas State's website is showing them with a 3-8 record, so my calculations should be correct.
In beach volleyball, there was no conference schedule, the tournament determined the points. The tournament format was double elimination all the way through. Instead of breaking the tie for 5th and 7th, those points were 1.5 for 7th and 8th, 3.5 for 5th and 6th, which appears to be what the office did. The issue I'm finding is in Southern Mississippi's points. They finished 3rd by themselves, so should have been awarded 6 points, they were awarded 5 by the office. My tabulations for the other points are the same as the office. I'm going to repost the totals for beach volleyball, then post the baseball totals, then what should be the final totals for the season.
Beach Volleyball
1. Georgia State (8)
2. Coastal Carolina (7)
3. Southern Mississippi (6)
4. College of Charleston (5)
5. ULM (3.5)
Stephen F. Austin (3.5)
7. North Carolina-Wilmington (1.5)
Mercer (1.5)
Baseball
1. Coastal Carolina (14)
2. Southern Mississippi (13+1=14)
3. Troy (11.5)
Louisiana (11.5)
5. Texas State (10)
6. Appalachian State (9)
7. James Madison (8)
8. Georgia Southern (6.5)
Georgia State (6.5)
10. Old Dominion (5)
11. South Alabama (4)
12. Arkansas State (3)
13. ULM (2)
14. Marshall (1)
Estimated Bubas Cup final standings
1. South Alabama (142)
2. James Madison (132)
3. Louisiana (127.5)
4. Southern Mississippi (125.5)
5. Texas State (124)
6. Coastal Carolina (121.5)
7. Arkansas State (110.5)
8. Troy (109)
9. Georgia Southern (105)
10. Marshall (103)
11. Appalachian State (91.5)
12. Old Dominion (79.5)
13. ULM (77)
14. Georgia State (65.5)
Obviously, I will post any corrections that need to be made once the conference office releases their final totals. Hopefully that will be tomorrow.

The final standings have been posted. They fixed the point totals for women's tennis but not the points for Southern Mississippi in beach volleyball. The one point difference does not change the final standings posted above.
Congratulations to South Alabama on another Bubas Cup win. And congratulations to James Madison and Southern Mississippi on their top 4 finishes in their first year in the Sun Belt.

I'm bumping this thread only to point out it's being unpinned from the Important Threads.
