I think $6.99 to $9.99 is a bit greedy. That's more than even inflation accounts for. It's almost a 50% increase. I probably would have gone up a buck over the next three years, but that's me. If they think they'll get it then they'll take it. Hopefully more money is synonymous with more content and better production, more professional production.

They likely absorbed some costs until they reached an inflection point at which time they could increase prices at prescribed moments in time.

I've got Sling Orange plus the sports package. I believe Sling Orange only carries ESPN and ESPN2, with the sports package including ESPNews or ESPNU (and $11 more per month). I'm signing up for ESPN+ before the season starts and hanging on to the sports package til after the UCLA game because that one's on the PAC network. But then I want to drop the sports package. The question is this: does dropping the Sling sports package mean I'll miss games on ESPNews and ESPNU, or does ESPN+ carry those games?

I’m pretty sure you’ll still need the sport package to watch ESPNU & News even on the ESPN app

Yes, indeed! It’s not hard to get these add-on streaming services if you’re already paying a premium for core services from a major provider - or through other service providers as you have noted.

The Disney bundle is a steal for anyone. Hulu is great. I'm watching the current seasons of 'Only Murders In The Building' and 'What We Do In The Shadows' now. Those two alone are worth more than $4/month.
