All the carpet chemicals must be getting in the drinking water. Strahan was a strong candidate and didn't come with all of the crazy that MTG comes with. It's as red a district as they come so it's not like they have to worry about the general.

True.
Strahan just didn’t have the $$$$. I think she raised a total of $400k, and MTG spent over $5m. Not an equal fight, unfortunately.
But Strahan is a “future star” as the baseball cards used to say. She’ll be back.

To continue the baseball analogy, "future star" means you haven't done anything yet.

Patience, grasshopper.
And on a separate note, I’ll say MTG’s victory is yet another example of why I support non-partisan primaries.

RE: MTG Crushed It!
To those who call MTG crazy, she is nowhere near as loco as many on the left. But she is a fighter and won't back down and I actually like that. While milquetoast supposed conservatives stay silent on things, she speaks up. If those of you who don't like her want a more reserved representative, there are plenty to pick from and most are RINOS who want to pander to the uniparty and Conservative, Inc. MTG is unreservedly MAGA and that bothers some folks. I can see why it bothers the left. What I don't understand is why some on the right are so bothered by her.
Has she made statements that many think are nuts? I suppose she has. How about the leftist loons? That's happens weekly with them.
Kind of like DJT. No more mean tweets. Are we better off with him gone? You know where I stand on that one. Biden in incapable of organizing a two car clown parade.
I view it as a style vs substance issue.

RE: MTG Crushed It!
Tom we may agree on something. Knock me over with a feather. There may yet be common ground that we can find. I think most Americans would love to see term limits. We've got far too many fossils that have been in Congress for a majority of their adult lives. The framers envisioned 'citizen legislators' who would serve for a short period and then return home. They did not envision careerists who would get re-elected until they were in their 80s. Because of that, much of the energy of our Representatives is spent on fundraising and preparing for re-election.
I'd prefer something like;
Senate - two terms maximum, 12 years
House - change the term served to four years and no more than 3 terms, 12 years
Changing the House term to four years would alleviate some of that pressure of preparing for elections.

Oh, I support that, too.
But non-partisan primaries incentivize candidates to seek the middle ground, IMHO. Term-limits prevent individual office-holders from accumulating an unwieldy/unhealthy amount of personal power, but they don’t really have any bearing on whether the office-holder represents the political extremes or the political consensus.

So, do you consider MTG to be the extreme? She did get almost 70% of the primary vote which suggests to me that her views are more in line with what the majority in the Georgia GOP prefer.
My problem with non-partisan primaries is that it makes it too easy for a person of the opposite party to come in and vote for the candidate that they want their own party to face. Then, in the general they will vote for their own party candidate. Let each party choose their own person to run.

Nailed it!
MTG is an elected official because Republicans (RINOs to be specific) have refused to listen to the people who elect them.
RINOs refuse to listen to the people, so the people decided to MAKE them listen by voting them out.
