Of course we all know (and I am sure Penny does as well) both GP and Caulkins has given Caulkins credit for it.

Even today GP was talking about how it brought the players together and the team together to defend their coach.

Geoff is going to talk about that one comment for an hour tomorrow. Of course he’s going to take credit for it. I’m also setting the O/U line at 2.5 for Harvard references.

I think it's great that they can laugh about it now.

So team seemed to rally after the early four game win game streak then major injury losses hit

Some games, like East Carolina, had 5 absent players and all those losses had several missing players

Then the silly question to the head coach
And team wins on he road over a bad Tulsa team, Memphis still missing players

That was one win and they had to come back from way down to win it

Since then, was it a rally around the response to a stupid question? Or

Nolley, Williams, Lomax and Duren coming back?

I’ll go with having nearly full roster, Local radio hosts can think it was them

Calk fished so hard for the answer he wanted. He would have gone on and on and on. Thankfully Penny stopped him by flicking him off like a bugger

Whatever the subject matter, Calkins and/or Parrish will make it about them. Period.

OK some of you hate GC I get it. He probably makes more money than you and he is better educated. In today's column he wasn't taking credit for his question causing the turn, he was giving that credit to Penny for his answer turning the team around.

Either you are unaware of how much he takes a look at ME approach for decades or you are trolling with the weird idea that many pretty professional people here making message board comments indicates some form of jealousy? You can’t be that daft.

Geoff has used a similar style for years. It is not unique to him. Nice heartwarming pieces about sick kids and joining in on the bandwagon when the zeitgeist is all about the Tigers. It isn’t deep. It is decent reading and unfortunately it is also far too often treachly, predicable and banal.

And like so many he violates the cardinal rule of journalism which is not to make yourself the story. And in this throwaway little moment 6 weeks ago where he asked a dumb question that got a reaction and I assume generated him radio listeners, he revisited THAT with a snarky tone and addressed it several times, not just once. Because really, asking a coach of young men whether he believes in them is a good question?

Today, he asked about THAT question more than basketball.

The question would seem to be, Penny, how much did it help after that Tulsa road game getting Nolley, Duren, Williams and Lomax back as regulars and do you think that contributed to this nice 6 weeks? Because after the early season funk when you had a full roster the team looked better then the massive numbers of missed games?

I’m educated as hell. And have worked as a professional for decades and recognize BS. And on a message board will express that sometimes. If your idol Geoff taking **** here hurts your feelings, toughen up kid
