Sac State is an all Sports member while Cal Poly and UC-Davis are Football only. Wouldn't be to terrible in the sense that it in this scenario would still be very much available for OOC games.

As I mentioned in the original post it would be very unlikely however there would be some upside I feel for them going to the WAC, Texas exposure for recruiting, potentially easier path to the playoffs ect. Biggest thing for me is In regards to FCS football having 2 healthy somewhat western conferences, would be good for both leagues. If San Diego ever pulled their heads out of the sand and decided to add scholarships they'd be another good potential addition as well.

San Diego is very happy with their football status. It's simple math. $30K x 40 scholarships, which is roughly 2/3 of NCAA max, is hell of a lot more expensive than paying about $1M a year for football road trips!

There has never been two strong western FCS conferences! The Big Sky has always been top dog. Nobody else even tried, until the WAC started FCS football.

In an area like San Diego I would imagine they wouldn't have issues getting the money. And just because there has never been doesn't mean that can change, would be healthier for both OOC and playoffs.

Even Portland State’s “high school stadium” has a larger capacity than Torero.

San Diego Wave are filling it. USD football doesn’t appear to be. And San Diego State is soon to open their new digs. There may be money in San Diego, but it’s not going in “that” direction.

RE: WAC expansion
The gist of the past few pages seems to be the BSC and most of its members would love to see another FCS conference in the west but the BSC isn’t likely to kick anyone out and none of the current members have any desire to move.

That leaves the WAC as a Texas centric FCS conference with Utah Tech and Southern Utah on an island by themselves for football.
