Which conferences survive a basketball breakaway?

The P5 doesn't give the NCAA the Basketball tournament out of the goodness of their heart. They give the Basketball tournament to the NCAA so the NCAA have money to deal with all the non-revenue sport. Its literally payment to the NCAA for losing money on them.

Unless NIL can evolve to the point where schools can stop giving scholarships to Football and basketball players which in turn drastically decreases the amount of non-revenue sports they need to support for Title 9 reasons then the NCAA will continue to have its purpose for the P5.
