1. BYU's Mormon following is absolutely huge. Why do you think BYU has a separate TV deal with ESPN?

2. Cincy makes sense. Solid program overall and a good addition even without the WVU connection.

3. UCF stretches the footprint just as much as WVU and BYU. Orlando is 13.5 hours from Morgantown, WV. Provo, UT is 14.5 hours from Manhatten, KS.

4. Boise basketball has been decent. But if you're adding Houston, Cincy, and possibly Memphis in a already strong basketball league do you really need Boise to be that good? Plus Boise is still a brand so that can't be discounted.

5. I don't get SMU or Memphis but Houston has a really good solid football and great basketball program. Puts the Big 12 back into the Houston TV market.

Memphis gets better tv ratings than BYU. The ONLY AAC team with a better tv market and ratings than us is Cinci.
Also, Memphis was not left out of the last Big12 expansion talk. Below is a post from a well-connected person in the know...with what happened in that last clownshow go-around.
