I don’t think he was a bad AD as he was hired to shore up football and finances and did that. Personally, I miss his interviews on Memphis radio as he had loose lips when it came to conference info lol. Good luck to Tom and Ark. St.
Where is everyone getting the he-shored-up football crap?
He had very little to do with the improvements in football.
Fuente was already in place when he got here.
Norvell was hired by a search committee and not Bowen.
All he did was stand back and take credit for everyone else's work.

RE: New Arkansas State AD: Tom Bowen
I always thought he was exactly what we needed at that point in time. Got the books in order and molded animal house into an athletic department. Probably would have been a good commissioner (for a few years) from that aspect. He played to his strengths but had weaknesses, like most everyone else. Appears he wasn’t the answer long term, and he gone. Perhaps he’s had time to reflect on his experience here and will be better going forward. I’m glad he’s getting another shot.

He and their new football coach, Butch Jones, are exactly what they need at this point in time , and are really good gets for them. Both had notable accomplishments at every stop, and at places higher up the food chain than they are.

This happens a lot in the real world.
Yes indeed .... I see it every day in corporate America ...
