Even looking at this thread I know that a ton of people that don't care about Covid19, or think it's fake news or whatever, will be there and if they are infected, are not wearing a mask. and not socially distancing, somehow indirectly comes into contact with someone that can possibly spread it to a player or coach, thus ending our season. This isn't a political argument because it wasn't political when I caught it, my wife caught it, my children all adults and not living with me and their families catching it, and it wasn't political when I lost 3 friends to it. There is light at the end of the tunnel and I would prefer that everyone wait at least a month until opening.
The team isn't going to come within 20FT of any fans or anyone in Houston.
Having lost a close family member and nearly another one, I take covid damn serious as do all in my medical profession.
All it takes is for one non-essential personal to contaminate an article and then a player come into contact with it. It happens you know.
Hope all is safe and go Tigers.
I agree. We have lost two neighbors and my wife has lost several co-workers. People in Texas just don't understand, or they don't give a rat's ass.
very sorry for your loss. People just don't understand till it hits them personally in a very negative way.
We've lost some long time customers that we've known and been friends with for 20 years....And we just got a woman in our store about an hour ago (thirtyish) with her baby. She was so sad and scattered---just moved back here from Indiana where she had lost her husband to covid....
She said she got covid too with almost no symptoms, while he died. crazy...It moves like a tornado going down a street of houses. Some decimated some skipped with no damage.

All while having safeguards in place with regard to freedom and civil rights that are possibly the least restrictive in the entire country. They also haven't had a reckless disregard for human life (defined as not giving a rat's ass), by avoiding mass protests, violence, demonstrations and rallies involving tens of thousands of people on a daily basis.
Overall, given how much their civil rights were respected and how much freedom they have had comparatively, Texans have had a better grasp of how to comport themselves, than most Americans.
Plus every single Cougar has already tested positive for covid.

Within 40 feet of 10K fans is worse than sitting at a packed bar!
The state lifting of the mask mandate does not force private entities to allow maskless people in. Just like before the mandate was put in place, some places require masks to enter. It only prevents cities from enacting their own local mandates and restricts them from arresting/fining people and closing/fining businesses
I did get my first covid shot today !!! Maybe a Ft. Worth vacation is in the cards ... Better research the area around the arena ... look for RV parking for a 24 ft MH. Not to mention bars and restaurants !!

Apparently, they have one of those t-shirt launchers, but instead of filling it with t-shirts, they will fill it with covid and fire it at the players.

What?!
I think you need to read more about this.
Our own Dr. Threlkeld - who is not a freedom advocate by any definition - said that he would rather be 10 feet from someone with neither wearing a mask, than 3 feet from someone with both wearing masks.
