Stat padder for sure. He wants coach OTY, Mar for POY and Littleson for 1st team.

It isn't typical to rest players in college basketball after clinching like they do in the NFL.

BG just lost one of the stranger games I’ve seen. Tie game and Diggs shoots with 1.2 left, off iron and the shot clock stops at .7 in mid-shot, then starts again as Fields gets the board and follow shot for the BG win. Refs review, appear to confirm the shot and give Miami .2. Miami coach continues to plead his case, review again and OT is declared. Miami blows several chances to put it away but Diggs takes a terrible three with 8 seconds on the shot clock and BG down by one and MU finally wins in OT.

Turner was also hurt on that bizarre play — hamstring maybe. Bad enough that he couldn’t go in OT. Gigantic loss for them if he’s not 100% going into the tournament. Bg was awful in the second half tonight.

This locks Toledo into a quarterfinal matchup with ball state if Toledo wins against ball on Friday.

If Toledo loses, then an Akron win over Miami pits Toledo against Miami. An Akron loss to Miami would mean another game against ball state.

RE: Key Weekend Matchups for Seeding Positioning
This would be the final standings if Toledo, Buffalo, Akron, and BG all win at home on Friday vs. Ball St, Kent, Miami and Ohio respectively.

1. Toledo 15-4 .789
2. Buffalo 13-5 .722
3. Akron 13-6 .684
4. Kent St 12-6 .666
5. Ohio U 9-6 . 600
6. BGSU 11-8 .578
7. Miami 9-9 .500
8. Ball St 8-9 .470

These standings/seedings would remain the same even if the BG vs. Ohio U Game is not played Friday. However, if Ohio U cannot play in the tournament, WMU would move into the 8th seed and BG, Miami and Ball St would move up one seed each. But with teams not playing to predictable outcomes like Toledo vs. CMU and BG vs. Miami, we just have to wait until Friday at 9:00pm to see where everything stands. And with COVID, even then we might not know who is going to be playing who next Thursday in Cleveland!

What is the likelihood of BG winning at home, though?

Tomorrow's Miami @ Akron has been cancelled and tomorrow's Ohio @ BGSU has been cancelled as well, nervous times for tournament eligible teams with covid issues.

With that said, I think the Tournament Seeds are set "as is" except for the 2 and 4 Seeds that will be decided tomorrow night when Kent plays at Buffalo. The MAC Office did not mention in their press release today what team(s) of the 4 have COVID issues. We do however know that Ohio had to cancel their Tuesday game against Kent so I suspect their one of the teams that have issues.

Wow. Staying crazy until the end. So if a school or two need to drop out of the MAC tournament before it begins, do they re-seed with the remaining teams that didn’t make the top 8? Or, any chance the #1 seed ends up with a bye in that scenario? Given some consistency issues the past month, I like Toledo’s chances a lot better if it’s a “win 2 games in 2 days” scenario instead of 3.

Not that I’m wishing schools have that significant a COVID issue...glad when this is over...

If the team or teams with covid give the league a 48 hour notice the 9 and or 10 seeds bump into the tourney. If the notice is not given in time, then 1 seed and or however many teams gets a bye. Do i want to play CMU instead of Ball State? I think, maybe perhaps? lol

RE: Key Weekend Matchups for Seeding Positioning
According to Nick P. at The Blade, Ohio U is still looking to play next week in Cleveland despite having 1 player confirmed with COVID and two in contract tracing protocol. Akron Beacon Journal article online states that Akron has some issues with COVID as well and that is why their game against Miami was cancelled tomorrow night. No word on their status for next week’s tournament. The challenge for all 8 teams heading into next Thursday's Quarter Finals is to not only practice well, but just as important, stay COVID Free!
