we usually have ended up in the mid-level of the MAC. But we had an awful coach, and hired a former uga head coach, Ron Jirsa. By the time we get to cusa, he'll have some of his recruits in and we will hope to contend. Marshall fans don't much care for mediocrity in basketball, so if we aren't winning, we'll fix it til we are.

A team as succesful as Tulsa is, we don't take too well to mediocrity either....Many fans think we should fire our coach, NOW! I disagree though........

We're excited about this year, but we have a short bench and not much depth. Our first 6 isn't bad though. We should have fired him a few years back, but no money and he was a family and herd alum.
Sidenote, our women's team is undefeated and getting votes for the top 25. 04-bow

Jirsa also has ties to Tulsa. He was Tubby's assistant during his HC years at your school.

Yep, Jirsa was here a few years under Tubby. Good guy, he'll do well for Marshall...

they pretty much ran him out when they saw harrick was available.
and well all harrick did was run the program into the ground, then a few feet further.

Jirsa is ours now, I just hope he doesn't do something like Donavan. If ya didn't know before Florida Billy Donavan was ours.

If he does, that'll mean he's been successful, so at least its going the right way. But i'd still like to be able to keep a good coach.
