Isn't Biden proposing to eliminate the corp tax cut? If so, that's enough for me to think that Moody's dude is off his rocker. At least when it comes to the market. Not saying what the markets will do. Lots of folks predicted a market collapse if Trump won in 2016 and we all saw how that turned out.

I really do not share that view.

Lets remember, the money to the states are mainly to bail out our first responders and the hospitals. The states wound up spending money to get protective gear for the doctors, nurses and employees at the hospitals, and to get ventalators. This pandemics is not cheap trying fight this.

All of those things have already been funded to a significant degree, either through the first stimulus, one-off actions related to COVID through the release of 'emergency' funds and the like, or through increased DRGs leading to increased reimbursements.....

Now of course there are still some providers, systems or situations where as a result of their specific payer mix or other situations, they are taking significant hits... and there are also situations where like any business, they have prioritized other things and have CHOSEN to buy less PPE than they should (they still have choices)

SO while I agree that these costs add up, I'm simply reminding that this isn't a stand-alone funding request. I'd also note that as we are already approaching the next flu season, some of these costs are already part of any budgeting forecast. Not considering these factors are how $100byn assistance bills become $500byn boondoggles and windfalls.

Do you have some proof to that claim? We have an overabundance of ventilators so really, we need to buy more?
