Anyone that dies for any reason is getting counted towards Covid deaths. Truth be known, I I’d deaths are probably a 1/3 or less of what’s being reported.

Right now, covid is more serious than the ‘regular’ flu. Covid is mutating, though, because that’s what viruses do. So the situation is evolving.

But right now I could provide a long list of reasons why covid is more damaging and serious, one being how long it takes for a person who has access to the best known care to die, recover or partially recover. People get put in induced comas for weeks—that takes a lot of nursing. One ‘famous’ 41 year old actor guy who died recently had his leg amputated because of clotting

Another reason is, the unique ways it attacks different systems in the body —covid is even dengue fever like in its effect on blood clotting.

Thirdly, it didn’t go away in the Summer.

If I were into conspiracy theories, I’d be saying it was created in some laboratory as a vaccine or weapon ... but so what. Wherever it came from, the whole world is now trying to put in its place — one that might eventually make it less dangerous than the ‘regular’ flu.

You are joking right? Mortality is measured over time and there are several types of "rates" (IFR, CFR, etc.) so rate measures will always cause confusion. Most of the models are time based and annualized, partiallly because we dont know the cycle time of outbreaks of this virus.

The "outbreak" has only been going since late Feb and we are absolutely on track to significantly exceed 200K US deaths annualized at current rate. The go-to model is currently projecting us to pass 200K by end of October and thats assuming case counts dont keep accelerating

Such misleading numbers...It even says in the headline that it doesn't account for any social distancing, shutdowns or mask ordinances...200k to 2.1 Million were if we did nothing. Either you didn't read it or you are just being dishonest.

As for info from China, who da f ever believes what China says in public.

Our intelligence officials knew what was really going on there---as did anyone who was following social media before China shut down all real anecdotal info that was coming thru social media.

We’re getting a little smarter about Covid. First of all, protect the elderly and those at risk. For the vast majority of us, it’s usually not a big deal (of course there are exceptions). Go back to work and wear a mask when it makes sense. If you’re sick, stay home. Not that hard.

I’ve worked/traveled internationally during the entire pandemic. I think it’s simply a matter of time before I get it. I’ve tested numerous times. A little luck and some common sense has worked so far. If/when I get it, I’ll quarantine as needed to prevent spreading it to others.

All that said, I doubt we’ll play football this fall...
