Here's the truth about our current pandemic:
The current situation is that the average person that gets a Covid test has to wait 6-7 days to get a result. I know at least 4 people that have been tested, all negative, and all of them have had to stay at home until they got results. If any of them had tested positive, tracing would have been impossible. The Health Department wants restaurants to keep records of everyone that dines in our business, but with current testing that would mean that a positive test result (7 days later)would require a restaurant contact like hundreds of potential people that may have been infected. Until testing becomes a results in minutes thing tracing is almost impossible.
Truth.
NTR
It's Not Truth Related either. Different states have different testing procedures. Pool Testing is happening in some places. Multiple people's tests go into one vat. Wait time for results varies. Keeping records of who comes into your restaurant/ business sucks.

There's always Sweden's example to fall back on. I wondered what happened to them.

hmmm....not so good.

I think I'll check on Brazil.
If you got mild symptoms and fairly healthy don't get tested. Deal with it yourself in your own home. I had symptoms so that's what I did.
weird, i got test results in less than 24 hrs.
My Doctor office got a new test in and it only took 15 minutes to get my results.

I got mine back by e-mail in 3 hours
I still haven't ever been tested.

Listen to Trapper John. He’s an MD and a veteran. And a former rancher.

It is kind of silly...

By the time you have symptoms...You are a week in.

By the time you get tested...Another 3 days...Because these "free" testing sites are continually running out of supplies.

Then wait 7 more days to get your results back...If your results say positive heck you likely no longer are.

That assumes:
1.) People will actually give you their contact info. Is there a penalty for not giving it?
2.) That people will give you their correct info.
3.) That people will actually answer the phone if you call them.2a

Restaurants are already under a lot of strain. I am sure that pissing off their customers by trying to collect personal info from them is exactly what they want.
It’s the only virus I’ve ever seen that you have to be tested to know if you have it.

This is somewhat true.

But I don't think people know when they have a cold or the flu...They assume they do.

But since those are less dangerous people are less concerned about identifying them.

But when the fall winter comes...The testing centers are going to be overrun with people with "symptoms".

Some may be cold, allergies or the flu.

This is a very significant topic.

There is no baseline data like this for any comparison.

For all we know the common cold has the same amount of spread. We don't know. There has never been testing like this before. Maybe this is very normal. Maybe it is very abnormal. There is no way to know.

I have to disagree with that just based on the amount of viruses out there. A couple off the top of my head are Hepatitis and HIV.

Yeah... It's not hard to know you're sick, but I'm not aware of any virus you can CONFIRM you have without a test. I mean, even bleeding from your eyes could be Ebola or Marbug.
Gave at Lifeblood a few weeks back. Negative on the Covid antibodies so I guess I'm good.......for now.

I gave this week... Awaiting my results. "GOOD" to me would be to have the antibodies saying you've had it and are over it. Still don't know if having the antibodies fully protects you against getting it again though...

EDIT: Gave July 6th, results came back today (July 10th) negative.
