East (1 team): Washington
West 5 (teams): New Orleans, Sacramento, Portland, San Antonio and Phoenix

pretty easy to see how this will play out

22 teams, 13 in the west. Teams play 8 games. If at the end of 8 games the 8 seed has less than a 4 game lead then it's a play in for the 8 seed.

Looks like that is what will pass tomorrow. They Zioned it for sure.

This is a really fair scenario for the Grizz. Gonna be hella tough for both Blazers and Pelicans to overtake the 3.5 game deficit and shut the Grizz out completely.

If the Grizz go .500 over 8 games, the 9 and 10 teams would both have to go 8-0 to shut Memphis out of a play-in tourney. Hell Memphis could go 3-5 over the next 8 and still have a shot at getting the 8 seed.

Most likely we're looking at Grizz vs. Pels in the 8/9 play-in, where Memphis only needs to win 1 of 2.
