Alan Johnson pitched a complete game 4 hit shutout and struck out 6 in a 5-0 shutout of the Tigers in game 2. With the win State moves to 1 game back of LSU for the West lead and wins the weekend series. Also of note, this is the only game that LSU has not scored a run all year and also the lowest offensive output in terms of hits, by the Tigers on the year. State was led by J.B Tucker and Thomas Berkery with 2 RBI each. I would say this qualifies as beating the pants off the Tigers. :D

LSU won 6-1 the next day but still lost 2 out of 3 in the series, key thing here is they lost 2 out of 3 in the series. Wait State won 2 out of 3, that is what happened. :D

I am beginning to think that killerfish hasn't a clue about that series. Dude, you LOST the series, you lost the series, you lost the series, you lost the series.......what part of that is so confusing?

yeah and that part of his post, gotta love them Tigers, why they lost 2 out of 3 to State, why would I have to love them, they lost the series. They only won 33 percent of their games last weekend. State on the other hand WON 2 out of 3 or as mathmatics gurus like to say, 66 percent of their weekend games.

Well, I'm no math guru, by any stretch of the imagination, but I can tell you I know when I've won 2 out of 3, that I got the upper hand on somebody. And when I lose 2 out of 3, that they got the best of me and I would keep my mouth shut. Do they not teach simplistic math in Baton Lose?

They must not teach reading skills in Ms. :D
I simply mad a statement about the one above mine. It was said that their back. I said if their back what happened the next day. It does not take alot to realize that they lost the other 2.
The other thing is you need to quit taking this so hard. It is just a game.
By the way what is State's record and what is LSU's?
I just wonder who will win the west!
Good luck State. It is just a game lighten up.

I know man, we were just funning with your attempt to talk smack. See apparently you did not realize that State had not won a series in 3 tries before taking 2 out of 3 from LSU and basically since it was on the State board and not LSU, I think that 10Man was pretty much making the statement there in response to my post because he did know about State's struggles in that time frame and my constant use of the words UGH and dammit. :D
State is 33-13-1 overall, 14-9 in the SEC. LSU is 33-16-1 overall, 16-7-1 in the SEC. Well with 2 weekends left and a big LSU-Auburn matchup this weekend, I would venture to say that the winner of this weekend has the best shot at winning the West. LSU still has Arkansas left after Auburn, State has UGA this weekend and Bama next weekend, Auburn has LSU this weekend and Ole Miss next weekend. Should be a close finish though.
