Dear Tiger Scholarship Fund and Season Ticket Holders:
As we are all aware, these are unprecedented times for our world and for all of us personally. In conjunction with President Rudd and University leadership, we have taken a number of steps over the last week to ensure the safety and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. As we have transitioned during this time, I wanted to provide an update on the status of Memphis Athletics and how we are handling this pandemic.
As you can imagine, this has been difficult time for our student-athletes and there have been countless questions and decisions made. I am proud of the way our University has come together to address them in a responsible and timely manner. In addition to what was mentioned in the video, we have taken many immediate steps to equip and safeguard our student-athletes and staff. This includes equipping our student-athletes with technology needs, coordinating grab-and-go food for some of our student-athletes in Memphis and deep-cleaning all of our facilities in preparation for when they can return.
Even though we will not have face-to-face interaction with the majority of them, we will continue to provide academic, medical, nutritional, mental health and other services to our Tiger student-athletes while they participate in online courses starting this week. The university remains operational, but like other departments, Athletics will largely be working remotely.
In addition, TSF donations and football season ticket renewals are ongoing, and due to the challenging circumstances, we want to communicate that we are sensitive to our fans personal situations. As it relates to all future payments, please understand that our department’s goal will be to remain as flexible and accommodating as possible throughout these uncertain times. Should the current extenuating circumstances impact your decision making process on renewing your TSF donation as it relates to football and men’s basketball tickets, please email TSF@memphis.edu or call 901-678-2334 to receive a phone call from a Tiger Scholarship Fund representative to discuss flexible payment options. Payment plans are available. Likewise, for renewal of football season tickets, please email tigertickets@memphis.edu or call 901-678-2331 to receive a call from our Tiger Ticket Office.
Our mission has been, and always will be, to provide an exceptional academic and athletic experience for our student-athletes. Thankfully, wonderful supporters like you have fueled our ability to offer these opportunities for the deserving young men and women who wear the Memphis uniform. We are incredibly grateful for your support, especially during this difficult time.
