Well dang it you boyz beat me to it.
I came here to post a new thread because, yes, obviously the Seattle Dragons are functionally equivalent to the UAB Blazer-Dragons.
Anyway.... here’s my favorite link ranking all the team names.

And more importantly:
Who to root for in the XFL based on your CUSA school!
UAB - Seattle Dragons
(Yes absolutely use them for damages but cheer for them and buy their merch so that you can still get something out of them before they go under)
UTSA - St. Louis Battlehawks
The CUSA mascot most resembling an angry bird is UTSA’s Roadrunnerwarrior. Don’t ‘F’ with either one.
FAU - Tampa Vipers
Closest CUSA school to Tampa. Sorry, Panthers, you just missed out by a few miles.
Rice - Houston Roughnecks
(Although they’ll play their games across town at UH’s TDECU stadium, so maybe there is more of an ECU connection. Maybe I need to take this thread to the AAC board... memo to self..) anyway what better nickname to evoke the Rice Student experience. Er, well... hmm.
UNT - Dallas Renegades
The jig is up, the news is out!
But again, SMU is closer to Arlington than UNT. I’ll at least fight through this before heading over to AAC land
LaTech - New York Guardians
What better guardian could you want than a Louisiana Tech Bulldog? I mean house-guardian but it works for the Cover-two scheme as well.
ODU - DC Defenders
Close by, just across the state. They probably even play their games in Virginia though I haven’t checked on this one
FAU - Los Angeles Wildcats
Our conference’s only cat nickname is a perfect fit for the LA XFL team. Sorry, UTEP. If we wouldn’t let FAU have Tampa, there’s no way you get the Wildcats (even if you’re closer to LA than you are to anyone In CUSA East (and half of us in the west, even))
Everyone else - you don’t get an XFL team and instead get to root for the FAVORITES, I.e., for the XFL to fail (again) in 3 years or less.
Enjoy and I’ll see myself out now!
(Go Roughnecks, Go Renegades!)
