Madison Broad Concludes Successful Week at Pan-Am Games

https://utrockets.com/news/2019/8/10/wom...games.aspx

Didn't realize there was another (future) Rocket in the Pan Am Games. 18th best time in the world? Has UT ever had a swimmer with that kind of ranking. Wow.

I'm confused. Her 200 Back time of 2:09.45 was ranked 18th in the world. Looking for MAC comparisons from last season https://getsomemaction.com/documents/201...n_sIND.pdf the winning time was 1:56.24 in the 200 back, with two Toledo swimmers under 2:02. Something seems wrong.

Hmmm ... had to look this up, but it is the difference between meters vs. yards. The times reported from her from the Pan Am games and Canadian events are in meters (probably all long course too.) Would have been nice if the article made that clear. The MAC times you linked are for short course yards.

Using one of the many on-line time converters:
2:09:45 (200m long course) = 1:54:45 (200y short course)

Thanks. I Thought it might have to do with fewer turns in a 50m pool.

Well, another coach gone. Apparently left to become an assistant at Utah. Took our best recruit with him.

Just adds to the huge turnover in non-rev coaches the past 2-3 years. Track-XC, VB, SB, both golfs, Baseball.

My guess is he got the job largely on the strength of that recruit. That really stinks.

Rockets finish 6th in the MAC championships. That's 1 slot better than last year, although they scored 100+ more points. I don't know if that bodes well for the future, or is just a blip.

Joelle Gallais Named CSCAA All-American

https://utrockets.com/news/2020/4/9/wome...rican.aspx

The covid-shortened season apparently significantly changed the criteria to qualify, but congrats to Joelle still.
