Keion White just keeps hitting the QB, four sacks in four practices. Not what I expected to see this early in camp for the former TE.

They are not really touching the QB. They get credit for a sack if they get close. A lot of those sacks might not ever really happen. QBs evade in real game situations.

All football fans know we aren't letting the QB get hit in practice. But apart from Marcus Haynes, Keion's getting credit for a lot more of them than anyone else on the defense. And that supports my original point of White.

And we hope this is testament to Keion's skill and work ethic, and not the inability of the OLine to stop anyone.

He certainly has the speed and athleticism to cause havoc off the edge. But yeah, fingers crossed on the o-line.

I think he probably has an advantage not in full pads and helmet right? Once they can get a body on him that might change.

I thought they had pads on starting last night?

RE: 2019 Fall Camp
I have a couple of questions regarding this years camp.

1). Are any of the practices open to the public.
2). Is there going to be a scrimmage at the end of the August camp that will be open to the fans or public.

I am excited about all the new faces that will be playing this year and would love to get a final sneak preview of how they have progressed. Especially interested in the Offensive line, Defensive line, the new receivers and who will be the go to guy. Also excited to see who takes the most snaps at QB, if there is a final scrimmage.

I am just like everyone else I have so many questions heading into this 2019-20 season. What I have noticed is, there is very little information coming out about our QB's and if there is one who that has separated himself from the others. I'm hoping that we have a QB that really steps it up and surprises us all.

In the early days of ODU football, or those first few years we were spoiled by the efficiency of Thomas Demarco and how he could move the ball with he's feet and how impressed I was watching him play. I will always remember listening to the radio when Demarco went down with his injury and thinking.........… Ohh NO.... However, Taylor Heinicke stepped in and calmed our fears when he took over the quarterback duties for the Monarchs in the second half of ODU’s Oct. 1st contest with then 20th ranked UMass, and Heinicke only continued to get better and better with every game.

I hope we will all see a new QB this year that will step in and calm our fears like those early years. How great that would be to have a QB that could lead us into a new era of winning at our INCREDIABLE new stadium. I'm excited about the potential that awaits us as we start this season. With so many new players and the new stadium I have been energized. Every year I think, this is the year, and yes, my optimism for our future will never die I feel it in these old bones that.... "THIS IS THE YEAR". I like the preseason expectations from the media that potentially we will only win one game. It is understandable that the preseason predictions have ODU finishing next to last in the league. Will this be the year we will all be surprised!

I'm assuming if there is a scrimmage for the public it will be at the practice field.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the plan is to have a open scrimmage at the new stadium but they're waiting in confirmation from construction that it can happen.

Unless he is another Penei Sewell (Oregon), the prospect of starting any true Freshman at OL is actually an ominous sign.

This dude Reese Becker @ReeseBecker on twitter may be our only hope for interviews, inside practice videos and information coming out of camp that isn't generic. He tweeted that if we want interviews with any players to hit him up.

Yes, I have heard really good things about this guy. It seemed most schools wanted him to play DT and he was a really good one, but also played OL (video has him at guard and center).

This is one of the advantages of coming in early (January).

Not a comparison, but it is interesting to note that Coward has made a similar move from recently with Da Bears. I hope both of these young men are incredibly successful with their new assignments.

Other comments:

Did Billy Lucas back out of commitment? He's not listed on roster.

Saw some video of Fitzgerald...looks like the next Duhart.

Is Spencer actually playing WR or mix of TE/WR?

Has Hayden Wolff been healthy enough to participate? Don't think I've seen video of him.

Really concerned at DT on what we have. Though, Jackson has looked good in the minimal video I've seen.

Keion White is listed at 267 pounds, interested to see what we have there. He is a very aggressive player...didn't he get kicked out of a game and get a few personal foul calls? Reminds me of the old days of our DL :)

I think we are going to be stronger in the secondary than we have ever been.

That was an error on 247s part. He signed with Duquesne.

Lucas was never an ODU commit as far as I can tell. He was always a Duquesne commit. My best guess is that someone screwed up (because both have the letters DU in them? I don't know) and it was never corrected. You know how reliable 247 is.

Wolff has been in just a little of videos/pics coming out, so well enough to participate but I don't think there's enough to say how well he's doing.

DT- Meiser is coming back from shoulder surgery and seems to get beat once a video but I'm sure he'll get back up to snuff shortly. Seen a little of Ross but the rest of the vids (when you can tell who's who) seem to be 3s/4s/futures
