I'd say, if weather is nice, that 25k in Boone should be the minimum in attendance for the UNCC game this year. I'd bet a buck that there will be 27-29k. Local teams bring in the Boonetown faithful.

clt plans to bring ice and pour it on the track

ODU should sell out Norfolk State (first game in new stadium and a cross-town rival) and ECU. Both should have close to, if not at, capacity for butts in seats. As for the other home games, it depends on how the Monarchs do this season (they might have an on-paper sellout or two but with 15,000 butts, or something like that).

The largest crowd at MU was wvu 41,382 in 2010. We had 40,592 for Louisville in 2016. We had 40,383 for wvu in 2007. 38,791 for Purdue in 2018. 36,914 for Kansas State in 2005. The capacity is 38,016. Those are the top five games for attendance.

The original capacity was 30,000 and there were several sellouts for games at that original capacity UNH; YSU and Montana that I can think of off the top of my head.

That's a game I'm sure Marshall fans hate being reminded about. Up 21-7 with like 8 minutes left in the game, about to go up 28-7 and they fumbled in the red zone. Long story short, the herd loses 24-21. I remember watching that game on TV and feeling so bad for Marshall.

Actually, it was worse. We were up 21-6, so they needed a two point conversion also.

Not sure that MT will ever see the plus side of 20,000 again at Floyd. And. while I'm glad that we've got a home and Home with Duke, not so sure that the Blue Devils travel all that well. I could actually ee us having more folks for the TSU game than the Duke tussle.

Southern Miss vs Alcorn will probably flirt with a sellout. People are beginning to come back, we've got some momentum across the board, and Alcorn will travel.

Team - Stadium Capacity - Highest 2018 Attendance
Charlotte - 15,314 - 19,151 (App State)
Marshall - 38,227 - 32,349 (NC State)
MTSU - 31,000 - 16, 617 (WKU)
FAU - 29,419 - 24,101 (Air Force)
FIU - 20,000 - 18,478 (FAU)
ODU - 20,118 - 20,532 (VT)
WKU - 22,113 - 20,811 (Marshall)

North Texas - 30,850 - 30,105 (La Tech)
La Tech - 28,562 - 22,926 (Southern)
UAB - 71,594 - 27,124 (Savannah St)
Southern Miss - 36,000 - 29,176 (Jackson St)
UTSA - 65,000 - 42,071 (Baylor)
Rice - 47,000 - 26,390 (Houston)
UTEP - 51,500 - 19,412 (New Mexico State)

Only ODU and Charlotte sold out a game last year (not tooting my own horn just an observation). A few teams were close to a sellout including FIU, WKU and NT. Some teams just have no shot because their stadiums are so big (UAB, UTSA and UTEP)

2019 Big Games
Charlotte - Marshall (Probably wont be a sellout)
Marshall - Cincinnati (Definite sellout)
MTSU - Duke (Should be but wont)
FAU - UCF (Definite sellout)
FIU - UMass (Probably wont be a sellout)
ODU - ECU (Definite sellout)
WKU - Army (Should be but wont)

North Texas - Houston (Definite sellout)
La Tech - UMass (Probably wont be a sellout)
UAB - South Alabama (No chance)
Southern Miss - North Texas (Probably wont be a sellout)
UTSA - Army (No chance)
Rice - Baylor (Maybe, depends how many Baylor fans show up)
UTEP - Nevada (No chance)

C-USA should have more sellouts this year than last year.

There was probably More excitement last year for the NC State than Cincy this year, State probably brought as many fans as Cincy will so I'd say attendance for the Cincy game will be similar to last year's NC State game. Cincy just ain't the draw a P5 team nor is this any kind of rivalry game.

You don't know SWAC.

UAB's highest attended game ever was versus Alabama A&M. Alabama state will also bring a nice crowd. They will bring more people than USA, Troy, Memphis, Southern Miss, and even Mississippi State have in the past. It ain't about the quality of the opponent.

Alabama State always brings a huge crowd to their in-state FBS opponents. It's simply an automatic in this state that you'll have great attendance when playing them.

If we beat Boise and Ohio we will or real close. Cincy would then be a chance to run the table and it will bring the fans. If we lose either or both the other games, badly, then it will be less than 25k, imo.

I remember sitting in the stadium thinking "Jesus, what is it going to take for us to completely 100% pack out this stadium?".

I can't image we truly sold all the tickets. As you mentioned, the corner sections of East upperdeck (couldn't see the West upper) where very bare. Especially that south east corner. I highly doubt we "sold" all those tickets, yet several hundred people in adjacent seats all coincidentally did not to show up. I feel like there was probably around 33.5k at that game. Maybe don't wait until 9:15pm for kickoffs if you truly want a sellout.

That was because TV (I believe it was fox) wanted to move the game to Thursday or Friday. We refused, and the compromise was the 9:15 kick.

UAB will NEVER sell out Legion Field, but I'll say attendance will be closer than you think between South and ASU. Apparently you haven't got a clue about the UAB-USA rivalry.

If UTEP beats Houston Baptist then wins at Texas Tech the Sun Bowl will be close to a sell out. All kidding aside, if UTEP can win 6 games this year then next years game in the Sun Bowl against Texas Tech will be a sellout.

There was a rivalry when I was in school but that was the 80s in basketball as members of the sunbelt

That southeast top corner is reserved for students. They will not sit there and crowd into the lower stands packing more into an area than there are seats. So even if it is sold out it there will be empty seats in that corner.

USM largest attended game this season will be vs Alcorn St. Nearby FCS schools often result in good attendance.
