Great article in today's NY Times on college pitching technology...

If we don't already have utilize this, this should be a good use of RBI Club funding. Alternatively, something a donor might want to contribute.

YES!!! Spot on Walt. Thanks for posting. This is something that I believe Rice could easily do and the added benefit is we have the "brainpower" on campus to analyze the data and provide to the players and coaching staff. May also generate more student involvement in the program as they would be a big part of the team through their contributions via data analysis and recommendations. I really hope this is something that Coach Bragga and JK are looking into. Time for Rice to move forward and get serious about implementation of new technology. As I've stated before this would be great tools to develop current players and evaluate potential recruits through camps etc.

I sent the article to Coach Bragga and Rick Mello. Got an immediate response from Coach, thanking me for sending and saying they have looked into rapsodo, WIN reality, trackman, and hittrax and are excited about the possibilities.
