RE: RIP John Kilzer
RIP JK... He had a single titled "I Love You" that never made Top 50 or anything like, but it was one of my favorites and I used to sing it to my bride years ago... after I'd had a few and wanting to get lucky ;^)

Sad news for sure.
RIP John...

JK would not so lightly describe himself as a rebel. His story of drug addict to ministry was a special story. He is also a gift to help us understand that our life and our mistakes in the past don’t define our future. And to remind us not to be so quick to judgement of others. The screwup you are talking to today my be one of God’s greatest gifts tomorrow.

I meant no disrespect in my comment. As a student during that same time, I reveled in the story about him being on a return flight after an away game and ordering a couple of drinks and getting dismissed from the team, only to be voted back on by the players. That’s where he came across to this fellow student as a rebel. What he accomplished with the rest of his life is almost movie-like in retrospect and should be celebrated.
