If your team is really young, playing I the CBI or CIT might be worthwhile, or if your team has been down for a number of years and is trending upward.

So let me get this straight: WKU fails to gain an NIT or NCAA bid. Another tournament comes calling, but you’re above it even though you weren’t good enough to get into the two big tournaments? 01-wingedeagle okay then.

WHere you been man?, we have been saying this for years on here this very board and has been repeated over and over again by WKU fans haha....THe bigger question is why does other CUSA fan bases view the CBA and CBI as such prestigious tournaments? They are a joke of a tournament, why wouldn't WKU think we are better than those tournaments? If others in CUSA thought the same maybe our conference would be viewed higher nationally...

I didn't see anyone saying these tournaments were prestigious. They are just a chance for young teams to get a few more games in. MT has gone to some and declined some. Stop acting like Western Ky is above it. Like the other poster said, this isn't 1979. The powers at be are squeezing teams like ours out of the NCAA tournament completely, so unless you guys want rarely to play in any post season tournaments you might want to consider them occasionally, which I suspect Western will in the future.

So we can put up a banner for beating Campbell, Gardner Webb, UC Davis and Col poly? What does this prove? These tournaments are jokes besides NIT and NCAA... We put up a postseason final four banner last season, so it's not like its been that long.....WKU is above pay for play tournaments, so stop criticizing us otherwise....

RE: Post season tournaments?
The CIT and CBI are just a bad idea for most teams. A LOT of schools have a standing policy against these tourneys. If a school in C-USA is not in the NCAA or NIT they need to spend their TIME and MONEY out recruiting better players----NOT wasting time and money on these games.

It is a matter of priorities, common sense, and attaining long term goals which are worthwhile.

WKU “...spending money out recruiting better players” is classic. After Rice’s loss last night, all hail Marshall, the overall “pod” champion.

Time and money recruiting. Slam and makes jokes if you wish. It takes commitment to recruiting to bring in better players.

If they lose money for schols with already limited budgets i dont see the point. Maybe I'll change my mind if they stop being pay to play.

I think this describes Rice... although
I expect we’d need to win a couple in Frisco to even get a call, and... if we win two... we’ll probably just go ahead and win all four. But if not... sure, hook us up. We are very young and can use the experience.

I'd give 'em da finga every single time...

piss on those pseudo tourneys....

you could poll 1k folks and 98%+ would be deer in the headlights if not ncaa or nit...

hell, I don't have a clue what the "c" tourney acronyms represent....
