12 to 16 seeds are reserved for mid-major conf champs who would not be in without the auto bid. IF Memphis were to pull off a 4-game run that included 2 or 3 top 25 Quad1 wins, they would not be in this category.
Last year the MWC and MVC champs got 11-seeds.
Memphis at 23-12 with 3 or 4 Quad1 wins would be 11-seed at worse, and likely a 10-seed - comparable to 20-13 Butler or 21-13 Providence last year.

IMO no way we should be a 4 seed in the NIT (updated bracket as of today).
