For me it is a tossup between a high end PG and a big who can score. Our big's this year have had tons of point blank opportunities in seemingly every game where they simply cannot finish. A big that could score would be massive for this team, but so would a PG who can control the game and create for everyone else.
My list for consideration would look like this:
Satterfield, Maxiell, Gates, Van Exel, Blount, Hicks.
I think its really interesting that some folks are listing perimeter guys and other folks are listing inside guys.
The question is really, what does this team need most.
I assumed it was a post player. But you guys listing guards are justifying that by saying if we had an amazing sharp shooter outside, the inside guys we have now would be better...which may be true. Not a take that occurred to me initially.

We have enough guards/wing players on this year's team already IMO. If I could add one player to the mix (outside of Martin or Fortson) there is no hesitation. NONE. Insert 6' 9" 260 lb. Yancy Gates. Oak tree trunks for legs. The immovable force. Averaged near double double his Senior year. Post up. Catch ball. Pivot. Dunk ball. With authority. Ball goes in. Flushes down. 2 points every time. Missed bunnies? Not going to happen. His FT shooting was inconsistent but I miss a big brute (not tall and skinny) in the middle that is an enforcer and ball flusher. One that has a presence and makes little dudes avoid the lane. Imagine what he could do in the AAC as opposed to the gauntlet of the Old Big East. Gates is the missing piece. Observe.....

Exhibit C [Go to The Bucket With Authority]:
Exhibit D [Opposing Players Stare in Awe]:

After watching many of the shots those guys missed Sunday, you can NEVER convince me of that.

I admit, I completely forgot about him. He would hands down be my pick. No question about it. He could score inside and outside and would bring that physical presence to the interior. He would absolutely dominate if he got the ball consistently within 2 feet of the basket like Brooks and Scott do.
