Reading on the UAB page and sounds like their coach is going to be canned at the end of the season; their baseball talk sounds eerily similar to our basketball at times

some of the more intriguing posts:
- Not a baseball guy but I noticed our record, 11-17. Ouch. I believe Shoop's contract runs out after this season so there's a good chance it doesn't get renewed.
- UAB fans would actually have to show up to games for it to stand a chance. We cant simply show up twice a year for the Gump and Auburn games (in small numbers).
- It's something I'd really like for UAB to improve at. I know several on here are Schoop fans and suggest that it's the facilities, so I hope they're able to improve that soon and make this a competitive program.
- Short of a huge turnaround, I doubt Schoop returns. Technically won't be fired, just won't be renewed. I'm pretty sure Schoop's contract expires in July. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
- One of the problems with baseball crowds is that we don't draw but a couple hundred (at best) for any game at Young Memorial Field on campus
- There may have been 200-300 folks at the game at Regions Sunday for the UAB game at noon.
- and if the game were played on campus there may have been about 50. Maybe.
- We are currently raising money for a multi use baseball/softball facility that will have locker rooms and players lounges for both teams. Neither team currently has this so it is much needed! We just redid the field at YMF as far as re-leveling and putting in new grass. New bleachers and dugouts need to be addressed desperately but I think that is the last thing on the list for renovations.
- UAB just celebrated the 9th anniversary of "raising money" for the baseball/softball facility. I'm not sure it is any closer now, than it was in 2010.
- Nobody watches college baseball
