We'll see what the final score is but in my book this game is a big win

We had our chances. This is a moral victory just like last week and the way our conference looks we should get more real Ws this year than I expected.

Definitely had chances to win. The penalty killed the go-ahead drive, but after the great special teams play, to allow a 99 yard drive so easily with the game on the line is disappointing.

Given how we've played the past two weeks against quality teams-- both well within the Top 75, and arguably borderline Top 50-- I'd be disappointed if we didn't win 4 games in conference.

Hard not to smile about the effort by the coaches and team tonight. Were there mistakes that really hurt? Yes, but then there was some great changes by the staff and great execution of the changes. Compared to what Hawaii did to Colorado State and Navy you had to be worried but the Owls really stepped up their game each week and tonight put a scare into Hawaii.

Imagine if this offense tried to feature Cephus.

Cephus!!!

Catches a 41-yard pass at the left sideline.

Then plucks a high ball away from two defenders for a 19-yard TD!! WooHoo!!

36-29, Hawaii. 1:45 left in the game.

(NOTE: I mistakenly posted a bunch of game-thread reports before this one on the "1st half thoughts" thread. Mea culpa.)

So why doesn’t the clock stop in the 4th when the receiver goes out of bounds. Did they change that rule and I didn’t notice?

IF we can recover the onside kick, we have three TOs left. Plenty of time left to score and send it to OT.

Edit: never mind. I got Optimistic there for a minute.
