Obi didn't play JUCO basketball. He was a transfer from Longwood University, a DI member of the Big South Conference. Obi Rapu graduates this semester but could return as a graduate student.

Yeah my bad. at longwood he was known as a scorer. I am hoping he finds that stroke here soon.

Other offers on Verbal Commits - University of the Pacific (Forbes evens the score against Damon Stoudamire), Louisiana Monroe, Portland State, Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

JUCO stats - 9.8 points per game, no 3's attempted, 55% FT%, 4.5 rebounds in 13.3 minutes. And 2.7 blocks per game in 13.3 minutes!

Needs work, but some real potential. Runs well, looks long and bigger than 210. This guy will alter shots in the middle. I like the seal and drop step going to his left (seems to be a righty). Looks like a very good addition for front court depth! Mladen won't be able to coast in practice against him. Should help especially against teams like UNCG with big front courts.

He runs better than those offers would reflect. We may have a steal in him.

7 footers with complete games go to Kentucky or Duke, maybe UNC or Kansas. They are very rare birds. Most of the others that size tend to be projects.

With Corley's length, athleticism and hustle on display here, he's got great upside. With his length and shot blocking (2.7 per game in only 13.3 minutes) he should be able to have an effect similar to Peter Jurkin, coming off the bench and altering the flow of the game. Can't stress enough that our main SoCon rival this year is UNCG and we need a front court size to match up with them. As for the rest of it, we'll see how things develop. Not everybody does. But if he does, you've really got something

Forbes knows something we don't. On paper this doesn't look like more than giving our starters two or three minutes of rest or helping a little with foul trouble. Forbes wouldn't give a full ride to a kid who barely played in jr college.There's more to this story than 6'11.
