4G + 1F
I don't think it would be that fair lol.

I think our 1st team would be scary in that sort of thing, 2nd team is a little guard heavy.

I think the all-conference teams where as fair as you can get. You could argue for 5-8 others who maybe had an argument for 2nd team or HM, but it was about right.
Shake I can get the argument for leaving him off 2nd team because he missed 9 games, but there is little argument if he had played SMU would have been top 5 in conference and he would have likely been 1st team all conference. He was playing up to AAC Preseason POY hype. I think he got the nod, because of how much of an impact he had on SMU by not playing.
Melvin Frazier if you have watched him play is one of the best 8-9 players in the conference and a potential 1st round pick, he is just on a poor team.

I have zero doubt in my mind that if Shake was healthy all year he would have been AAC POY. No offense to any of the other players, he just has another level he can hit.

I agree with everything you said. But it doesn’t change the fact that Shake missed a ton of games and Tulane finished 10th in conference. Corey Davis was more deserving this year. Frazier should have got the Quinton Rose treatment. Honorable mention.

If we're going to give awards to people based on how much of difference it made to the team that they didn't play for; I would like to recognize Lebron James as AAC POY. Think of how much of an impact he would have had IF ONLY HE WOULD HAVE PLAYED FOR TULSA.

Not to kick you when you are down, but the 4 years in a row is more likely because your program is bad. ECU gives more minutes to freshmen who end up getting more stats. Then they win all-freshman honors because programs like UC and WSU are not playing freshmen.

That is like 14 year old boy argument. Shake played for SMU and showed his impact this season and in conference play. As I said, I could see leaving him off 2nd team, because his injury. Just stating from being only guy in conference to average over 18/4/4 and shot over 42% from 3 through the season and those 9 games he can show he was one of 10 best in the conference and his value is clear.
As I said I wouldn't have complained if they left him off, but its not like adding some guy over him who averaged 12-13PPG and had worse overall numbers is a clear choice. You can make an argument both ways.

Shake would have been a first teamer if he played all year. He didn’t, he missed half of the conference schedule. And then you leave off a guy that plays on the team that finished tied for second (projected to finish 6th in preseason) who averaged 15 PPG, played lights out defense, and was one of the best shooters in the entire country. I have a bigger issue with Frazier. Rewarding a guy whose team finished 10th in conference!? Travesty.

I think Sterling Taplin should have gotten at least honorable mention.

I'd say Cameron Reynolds was the biggest snub.

Tulane didn't need 2 players on the 2nd team. They were certainly better than they were last year, but they still weren't a great team.

If BJ Taylor had played all year I think he would have been in the mix for 2nd team.

Agreed. Probably taking Adams' spot as I believe he was last one on.

You follow some mighty uninformed Twits. The conference absolutely nailed the first team.
What is even more funny, Memphis best win came with martin on the bench(Houston).

Shawn Williams was the only unanimous pick to the Rookie Team...
Rookie of the year?

Not saying they did, but I think that Reynolds putting up 16 and 6 for two straight seasons was worthy of honorable mention status at the least.

He'd be my pick.
Thought Chargois was going to run away with it early on this year but he finished the season pretty weak (still recovering from an injury?).
David Collins has played exceptionally well for USF over the second half of conference play.
