And only 1 turnover with the ball in his hands much of the game, despite how hard they worked to keep the ball out of his hands.

I am stunned that the announced attendance was only 3649. It seemed larger and I agree with those who said that it was incredibly loud, as loud as I have heard it in decades.

Our average attendance in conference games was 4012, behind only UNC-W and ahead of conference champion CofC, which finished third. I suspect this remarkable attendance level was helped by our fast start and the makeup of the team, which is both over-achieving (picked 8th) and fun to watch (high-scoring with highlights reel play from Knight and Pierce).

I suspect we created some fans today.

Attendance was lower due to poor student turnout...no free food today prior to game.

I'm not sure how accurate it is right after the game. I know for a few games they adjusted attendance a few days after, bumping the numbers up.

That looked about right on attendance. Half the student turnout today which I think was due to the warm weather as much as the not having free food. Hard not to be outside today.

Milon's three pointer near the end was absolutely stone cold killer. Takes one confident player to pull the trigger like he did at that moment. Bodes very well for the tournament and next year.

Charleston had no one who could deal with Knight, other than the officials.

LOL. You must be really new to this thing called college basketball if this was the first time that you experienced this. Heck, I maintain that it was a definite factor in the first Charleston game. Which is also why, besides their being an excellent team, it will take a Herculean effort to beat them on Monday (provided we and they both win on Sunday). (Besides Hercules, better throw in a few other heroes and superheroes as well). Any team playing CofC will be playing 5 on 8.

One ref was just bad. For the Saturday games most good refs get assigned to the ACC and the CAA gets if we are lucky one ACC caliber ref and two no so good refs. Let us face it -the white ref was lost out there and horrible. Several times the senior black ref with the mustache had to do a make up call to fix the bad calls of the other two.

Well, since our tournament this year is Sunday-Tuesday (not counting the 6-10 games) then there is no excuse for the CAA not to have top caliber refs for those days. Of course, it also means that it could be the first time that those refs have seen our players (which means that players like Knight seldom get the benefit of the doubt on fouls).

First time I've been at Kaplan in years! Had an absolute blast. Today I learned that Connor Burchfield is a prodigious ****-talker. Also Tony's hug with David is one of my favorite Tribe basketball moments. Its gonna be a fun one down in Charleston!

Watched the game tape:
This crew has no business officiating a CAA basketball game.
An experienced crew does not fall for Chealey's acting jobs which resulted in two 3 pt shot foul calls, a driving foul call, and a rebounding foul on Nathan. All non-fouls.
The traveling call on Rowley under the basket was horrendous.
The only legit foul on Nathan was his fifth foul, that was Nathan's fault for not blocking out. 22 mins for Nathan, 37 mins for Brantley, when Brantley's time could have just as easily been limited by fouls. An officiating crew can't be allowed to have that kind of impact on a game.

Charleston has no answer for Nathan. Our defense is night and day different when Nathan is in the paint. We had a stretch in the second half of very poor defense and not blocking out when Nathan was on the bench and we should have pushed the lead into the 20's.

Have to believe it will be only experienced, quality officiating in Charleston, and expect Nathan's floor time to not be so hampered. If that's the case, then we have a legitimate shot at the title. Our major drawback will be fatigue over three days with our tight seven man rotation.

If seeding holds and indeed we have to go through Towson, Charleston and Northeastern, there is some legitimacy to it being very difficult for Towson and Northeastern to beat us three times in a season, and I believe we're the only ones who can take out Charleston at this point in the season. I'd much rather face that obstacle in the semis than in the final.

RE: Charleston #2
While Riller's shot was amazing to force overtime, the celebration is front of our students may have fired up the fans and team for the overtime. They have also had multiple taunting issues with UNCW in the last 2 years. But, COC is really, really good. I do think the refs majorly helped them. Look, we got the worst draw we could have possibly gotten. There is no way we can win 3 games in 3 days with thousands of fans, the refs, and someone on the other team scoring 30+ points each game. Charleston had 4 guys score 20+ in regulation. Yet, we still WON.

Does the Tribe have the best chance to win? No, likely Charleston, then Northeastern, then Hofstra, then Towson will all be higher percentage choices. But, when this team plays well and together, there is just something special about it. We just need to hope we play some defense and make shots. Plus, we will likely have the 3rd most fans there if we show up like we did last year. Who knows, maybe there will even be an upset or two.

Given our seeding if we win the tournament we will have earned it.

This team is special. When they play as a team, I believe that they can win it all. Yesterday’s game was proof.

On to Charleston, with the team who has the biggest heart in the league. I like it.

I'm not concerned with seeding, who we will face Saturday, or who we may face Sunday and Monday. We were #1, let the opportunity slide, and now we have what we have. All we can do as fans is back our team. That's my job and I intend to do it well.

Living where I do I have seen Chealey play several times over the last two years. Do not for one moment think that it was an anomaly that he was drawing fouls (not always correctly) late in the game. That is what he does.

Look at the conference-only stats. He has made 124 FTs. That is almost 50% more than those tied for second (Wright-Foreman and Pusica at 84). He drives to get fouled, not to score a bucket.

Officiating was poor yesterday but he gets those calls game after game.

I never knew Connor could/would talk junk on the court, but he clearly was giving it to Cameron Johnson lat night after drilling a 3 in his face in the first half.

Giving up 63 points in one half to any team under any circumstances is not the way to win a conference tournament...

I counted 3, maybe 4, times Shaver mentioned questionable officiating. Rightfully so.

Can someone please explain to me how CoC is the consensus favorite in the conference? They're good but they're not that good. Frankly I don't get how they won the regular season title...
