I don't think choking a big lead in the 2nd half and eeking by in OT (if we are lucky) is exactly going in on a high note

What is your problem?? We just beat the top team by 14 points.

The problem? W&M was up double digits about midway through the 2nd half at home and let Charleston back in it. Then we decide to not foul and they tie the game on the desperation 3 to send it to OT. Luckily, Brantley got his 5th early in the OT and took away any inside presence Charleston had.

The team needs to stop squandering big leads because it will eventually result in a loss.

Villanova did something similar one time in the second half against G'town.

Now six halves would be something but ... So let it be written, so let it be done!

ZERO quit in the 2017-18 edition of Tribe men's hoops.

Very proud of the team and its accomplishments in this transition year.

Someone is cutting down the nets. Might as well be this team this year.

Anyone recall how we responded vs Towson last OT. I like how we dug in today. Big WIN = NO problem for me.

Towson needs to remember the old adage about beating a team three times in one season.

You only squander the lead if you lose IMO. Otherwise you're griping about the natural ebb and flow of a game. Teams go on runs, key players go cold or get in foul trouble, it's just the nature of the game. We just won a great victory, please just enjoy it and stop griping because we didn't blow out the best team in the league.

Team needs that confidence and to plant some doubt into Charleston by stopping their 11 game win streak. Love to plant 100, but would love more to see us simply play great defense and take care of the ball for 40 minutes. Need a big student turnout.

This was the first post I read after returning home from the game. Tribeheart, do you have any winning lottery numbers for tonight? You got practically everything you wished for in this post...why stop there?

THAT was one of the most exciting games I've attended in my 38 years of Tribe basketball. MAJOR PROPS to the crowd for getting loud nearly every time Charleston had the ball in the last 10 minutes, and to the TEAM for standing up to every challenge thrown at them today. Great, great job.

What I really came to post is I think we are getting our offense back to where it was for most the OOC and the first half of conference play. Liked how we got Nathan more touches in the post. Cohn back in top form. Milon coming out of his slump. Could be peaking at the right time.

As for the refs, they weren't horrible overall. First two calls on Knight were ticky-tac calls. In general they called way too many touch fouls. Gotta let'em play, especially in the post. Biggest concern for me going into tourney is keeping Knight out of serious foul trouble for three straight games. He needs to be smarter at times and avoid screening and rebounding fouls.

That's your constantly negative opinion. I think hanging strong and beating the #1 team is ending on a high note.

+1. It took a miracle shot for them to push us to OT, and then we dominated OT.

"Let". Yeah, it was all us. Charleston had nothing to do with it. If we keep getting big leads to "squander", I think we're in good shape.

I'll reiterate what I posted in another thread earlier this month. Nobody really wants to play us in the tournament because we can score a gazillion points. CoC played their butts off today, but they couldn't outscore us. I wondered if Earl would have rested his guys, but he didn't and was trying to wind down to the last 10 seconds. I know they must have been completely worn out losing to us today. We just need to do the same thing for three days.

That is something to be proud of.

BillyMac, do they count tourney stats for the final season records or is it just regular season?

I may have jumped the shark, here. I could find nothing definitive on the NCAA site. Also, Kris Sears, our very talented SID, and man about stats, did not include it in his wrap-up. So, that leads me to believe that it will have to include, at least, the conference tournament.

Ah, well.

Think the game is in their HomeTOWN but not their Home Court. Your still right they are favored but now need to look over their shoulder and worry about the best shooting TEAM in the Country!

Boys, I've seen many games at Kaplan Arena and old Blow Gym..but few can top the big-league battle we saw this afternoon. I, like WMTRIBE75, am worn out...but proud of the grit and toughness of our guys in sticking to it, despite the last-second regulation time three pointer, and winning against a Charleston team at the top of its game.

David Cohn played the game of his life today..just sensational...I mean sensational...an All-American performance. And Connor, Matt, Nathan and Justin right behind him.

And kudos to another great Kaplan crowd who stayed behind the team every second and made Kaplan loud
as its ever been. Nobody sat for, literally, the final ten minutes of the game.

What a season this far from a team nobody expected anything from and, instead, provided all of us with
thrilling basketball.

Can't wait to see Tony and some of his players at Tuesday's lunch at Anna's.

Unless you were there today, you couldn't see how hard this team worked and cut away from the ball on offense. For the FULL 45 minutes. CofC worked their butts off and still could not stop us. Usually a tough defense wears down any offense, but the opposite occured today.

When this team plays defense like that, they can play with anyone. They did not squander the lead. CofC (specifically Chealey and Riller) were just that good/unconscious in the second half, but they absorbed that punch and took it back.

First time I can honestly say that it seemed officials were trying to will a league champ to a win. Some dumbfounding calls and dumbfounding non-calls.

Sorry the students had such great weather today for February, but don't blame them for doing outside stuff. Crowd was truly into it today.

So much for Senior Day swoons. This team is different. Knew David had been phenomenal for 45 minutes, but was still shocked he had 30 pts!

Bottom line....Tournament will be a real war.....We are contenders!! Go get it guys!

Cohn playing 45 minutes, with 30 points and 9 assists is just crazy.
