Great game for our alumni outing with work. I hope it's another show! Keep our foot on the pedal and keep gaining momentum into the tournament.

I think we look past this one and have a mediocre performance in a close game, but pull away at the end and win.

RE: ODU vs UTEP
Just hope we get no one else sick before this next one. Porter, Haynes, Hueitt is plenty. You could tell from the get go that Porter didn't have it last night. Shot an air ball from five feet.
Gonna be hard to top this last performance. But let's try! The squad is playing high level ball right now. Let's get 21.

RE: ODU vs UTEP
I mentioned this in the UTSA thread for what it's worth, but with WKU beating UNT last night, an ODU win will clinch a top 4 seed in the CUSA Tournament.
20 wins - check
Top 4 - in progress
Win CUSA Tourney -
Sweet 16 -

We need one more win or one more loss by UNT and UTSA, but yeah, the probability of us going winless and one of those two running the table is probably about .00000001%.
We have a better shot of getting the 1 seed. MTSU still has @LT, UAB, WKU, and Marshall left. They'll probably win at least 3, but you never know. They could lose any of them if they have an off night.
If we win tomorrow and @Marshall, we will have a top 3 locked up.
All we can do is keep winning and hope for a little help. If we keep winning, worst we will get is the 2 seed.

RE: ODU vs UTEP
We are officially the best 3 point shooting team in the conference. How in the world can that be, when our pg and 2 guard can't shoot?
Edit: This is only for conference play, and it is 3 point %.

We've been on fire the last few games from 3. Hope we can save some of this for the tournament.

RE: ODU vs UTEP
We are all starting to see why BJ was such a highly regarded recruit out of HS. Also why Caver was called "a steal" for ODU. And Haynes, not sure what they said about him but I love him! Hope he can take it easy today and try to get over his sickness.

I'm sorry but it is not statistically significant unless you count the entire season--pre conference and all. And don't forget to add in last year's shooting stats as well. No way any of that earlier stuff could be an aberration. LOL.

It is all about confidence. When you have it, the shots fall at a better clip. Saw it come around on the FT shooting after a horrid start to the year. Hopefullt the 3s will continue.

RE: ODU vs UTEP
I usually don’t feel good about games - but I like this matchup. I think UTEP is going to come into the Ted tired after a long road trip and just squeaking by lowly UNCC. I anticipate BJ will be hungry and ready for more after Thursday’s performance.

The throwback jerseys will be on display tomorrow night. Sweet jerseys - but I wouldn’t change anything after a 100 point performance. Call me superstitious:)

RE: ODU vs UTEP
So I think that UTSA game is an example of what has frustrated so many fans this year. We feel the collective offensive talent isn't reflected in our scoring output. Then the UTSA game explosion and hopefully we have uncorked what this team can do. Someone mentioned confidence and that has to be part of it. I'd like to think some balance is happening too where maybe one night it's Caver, Haynes and Porter but the next night it's Stith, Stith and X. Sprinkle in a little contribution from the rest of the bench (10 pts a night?) and this team should be hard to beat in the CUSA tournament.
A let down tonight against UTEP would be crushing but I don't think it will happen. While I think JJ gets criticized fairly at times I think he'll recognize the situation and make sure the team is prepared. ODU rolls tonight...
