Here’s That Sexy Ice-Dancing Lift Deemed Too Hot For The Winter Olympics
Quote:Okay ice dancers, you gotta be careful about those steamy moves when the only thing holding you up is ice. Don’t want things getting too hot!
One Canadian ice dancing team took that risk when they busted out one particular move during a routine in January’s Canadian Skating Nationals. The team was Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, a pair whose last names read in my head like “more virtue.” Irony!
The lift in question comes during a beautiful routine set to music from Moulin Rouge! At 2:25 into the routine above, Moir effortlessly lifts Virtue into the air and she straddles him… around his neck, with her business right there in his face as the two spin in circles. The business-to-face meeting only lasts for a hot sec, though, as Moir’s head is just a pit stop on Virtue’s tour of his spandex-clad body. She keeps swinging, all the way down into his arms and back on the ice.
Phew, lordy, how did the ice just not melt underneath their feet?
Okay, obviously while this is sexier than things you usually see in Olympic sporting events (well, intentionally sexier, because this move has nothing on the incidental sexiness of the average men’s water polo match!), it’s no sexier than what you normally see on primetime TV. But apparently the lift scandalized Canada, as photos of the lift were not circulated to the press for fear of being too hot to handle.
