Most likely:
Parents Weekend = Oct 13 v UAB
Homecoming = Nov 3 v UTEP
...which works out quite well.
George, hasn't parents weekend traditionally been the weekend before Homecoming?
Not at all: since those two events are both planned and executed by the Alumni Affairs staff, they actually try NOT to have them on consecutive weekends.
Parents Weekend and Homecoming are on home football weekends. The home games on 8/25 and 9/01 are too early for either, and the home game on 10/06 falls during midterm break. That makes 10/13 the logical choice for Parents Weekend, and 11/03 the logical choice for Homecoming (which has more often than not been in early November anyway).
It is conceivable that Parents Weekend could be held on a non-football weekend in late September, which would free up 10/13 for Homecoming, but that seems unlikely.
George, up until 3 years ago (and again this past year) when games were played as late as mid-November, Homecoming games had traditionally been mid-to-late October.
Walt, trust me on this: there is no "tradition" about Homecoming being in October versus November. Sometimes it's one, sometimes it's the other. It depends how the football schedule aligns with the academic calendar. Homecoming cannot be during October mid-term break, nor on a bye week, nor a game that is moved to NRG, nor (ideally) on the weekend preceding Thanksgiving. That leaves very few options -- in many years, exactly one option. Except for the Centennial, which was obviously a special case, there has not been a "tradition" of preferring October to November.

I’m doubting that it’s included in season tickets but maybe a chance to get preferred seats?
Rice isn't playing UT.

You're right, of course. ITS UTSA on 10-06. Rather than going to the official scheduling site, I just glanced at one of the re-posts.
Nevertheless..... I wonder how we will handle tickets for that "home" game....NEXT year!!

We get UH at home. Also UTSA usually draws decently (by our standards).
That should already make it better than last season, IMO.
UTEP is also a good draw and will make a good homecoming game.
