Even their mannequin is scared of floor-burns.

Also, some seriously tiny hands.

Overtly vascular black mannequins frighten me.

Nothing to worry about.

We don't have anyone on the roster that even remotely resembles that mannequin.

LMAO! But...

I don't think the knee pads are for diving for loose balls if you catch my drift.

I had a comment prepared to fire off about the hands but it was racial. Last time I tried that kind of humor I received death threats via PM. Antifa snowflakes mean bidness - for reals.

The "new" uniforms were all going to remove "East Carolina" from them... and these are new.

These were most likely ordered before they wanted to go to just ECU, they have to order them like 10-12 months in advance. Next years stuff should all be ECU. FWIW, this is in line with the new font and what they are currently doing for uniforms across all the sports.

"Wichita... are you ready?"

ECU had their best home crowd of the season and were sporting black uniforms not seen in a decade. The pirate ship was loaded for bear and ready to send the cannonballs flying.

The Shox then proceeded to give ECU their worst home loss since 2008.

We were ready.

Next up: The Harvard of Noodling country and odds on favorites for 3rd place in the AAC

Quote:The pregame line of students to fill the Minges Maniacs section certainly looked the part for big-time basketball Thursday night at East Carolina.

After all, top-five teams and national TV games don’t land on the Coastal Plain too often. Last time was 2006, to be exact.

And just as soon as those black-clad fans got to full throat after a surprise early lead, ECU got a harsh lesson in what big-time basketball really is.

Quote:“We’ve seen the elite of the elite in this league,” ECU interim coach Michael Perry said afterward. “You saw why they’re the fifth-best in the country. ...

“They play well together, they play hard. There’s a lot to learn just from playing a team like this.”

I think Houston learned a lesson from playing us and showed Tulsa what they learned last night.

Quote:“I’ve never believed that, if you get the right guy, you can’t win anywhere,” Marshall said, adding later, “Just outworking people and getting your kind of guys, tough guys that want to compete at a high level in a great conference, and X and O a little bit … I know that this is a job that you can do that. Find the right guy.”

Words of encouragement from Marshall.

Find. Your. Guy.

It appears as though we may have been ready.

I'm not saying we'll win the tougher games at SMU, Cincy, etc.--in fact the chances are high we'll lose some of them--but I guarantee you we will be ready.

I know there is a lot of smack back and forth, and super bowl talk, and yada yada...

But I am still super excited to be playing H/Hs with teams like UConn. As a fan, there's a big difference in excitement about playing a down UConn team compared to a down Loyola(Chi) team.

I hope the league continues to improve. Coaching moves, etc., make it look like it probably will.

Good game, Shockers!

I knew we were going to get blown out - but I'm at least glad to see we fought at the beginning of the game. We have no shooters, no depth, and no coach. An already depleted roster before the season, down 5 players from what we were expecting.

I'm disappointed we didn't pack 8,000 into Minges - but it was good to see the place rocking again. (At least for the first few minutes.)

I really hope our AD makes a good coaching hire... North Carolina is a hotbed for basketball, and there's no reason ECU shouldn't reap the benefits of that. The right coach (as Wichita State can attest to) makes ALL the difference in the world.

Welcome to the AAC! 04-cheers Glad to have y'all.

I want to point out that East Carolina's mission to make Wichita State show all their cards during this game worked perfectly. Now- the other teams in the league can exploit the Shockers' weaknesses. 04-cheers

I wonder if you can pry Forbes away from ETSU.

I would absolutely Love/Hate to see you guys get him.

Fantastic plan, executed to perfection. Now everyone is going to know to take away Brett Barney's right hook. We're doomed! 04-cheers

Hope things get turned around in Greenville.

Just most of the cards. We haven't used the ace up our sleeve that is the "redbird" play yet. I'm sure Marshall is saving that one for Jank and SMU.
