It was said by Jason Smith, I will sit here and wait patiently while you show us the false info Jason Smith has said in the past.....

Like when the Tub got all mad at Jason for reporting the Lawsons would be leaving at the end of the season. He even went so far as to call it "fakenews".

Did Jason say they were transferring or that one was transferring and Dedrick was going pro no matter what?

I dont remember the exact details over the course, but I do know on several occasions he said they were "gone" at the end of the season, in whichever way.

So let's see, who to believe? Jason Smith quoting an anonymous source or Jeremiah Martin, who supposedly said it? One of them is lying, are you saying it's Martin?

When was the last time a player, in the middle of a season, answered "yes" to a transfer question? Answer: Never. It's always going to be a PC answer. Time will tell. Hope the kid stays, otherwise the dumpster fire becomes an inferno.

Exactly, people bash Jason (and John for that matter), yet their sources are better than 99% of ours on here and have been fairly accurate on the info they report.

They have been wrong before. John and his Austin Nichols’ news - if you listened to them then, you would know how wrong he was.
They are wrong again now. You choose to believe someone who doesn’t even cite his sources while I choose to believe the coach and the player.

Not once did I mention John. While I do not hate John like many of the posters on this board do, I do not consider him a reporter of the same stature as Jason.

That’s your opinion and you are entitled to it. They are cut from the same cloth IMO.

No problem, you pick Martin as lying, while I choose Smith's source.

RE: Jeremiah Martin wanted to transfer??
Martin expressed his dissatisfaction and it had the salutary effect of forcing Tubby to listen and adapt.

Unfortunately, it may not prevent Martin from transferring. It cannot be ruled out given Tubby's transfer rate since he took the helm.

In what world does Martin say, “yeah I was thinking about transferring”, in what way could that even be positive? You don’t say that unless you are ignorant to the consequences of saying it. Do you really think Martin is dumb? Seems like a smart kid to me and he played this how he should have. Minus the wanting to transfer part. Can’t blame him tho.

If Martin transfers, I do not blame him. He deserves a legitimate opportunity to play in the NCAA Tourney before his eligibility runs out.

Why in the world would this kid transfer? He’s a much better player than he was 2 years ago and he plays a very prominent role of the team. Tubby has helped the kid become a better player...smh

He might consider transferring to obtain reasonable assurance of playing in the NCAA Tourney or dissatisfaction with Tubby (like Crawford and the Lawsons who played prominent roles last year).

Martin, himself, says he never said he was considering transferring. Yet, it doesn't fit the narrative of those who want so bad to be able to blame our coach for something else, so they'd believe a media guy rather than the player...SMH.

One day the truth will emerge, I hope. Meanwhile, I will take Martin's word (a primary source) over a media member using unnamed sources and whose livelihood depends on ratings.

Nevertheless, I do not share the notion apparently adopted by other good Tiger fans that Martin's return next season is guaranteed.

I'd don't know either way, but what good (at this point) would it be for JM to say, "Yeah, I was considering transferring but I'm glad I didn't...?"

Not so much, but what they do love is every possible opportunity to blame the coach for something, even to point of fabrication.

Hasn’t the last year taught us that people who are paid tociver sports might actually know more than some here are willing to give them credit for?

Some of you take the whole “If I don’t like the message I assume the messenger is lying” to an extreme.

In this thread there is Tubby bashing, references to 'dumpster fire', conjecture of what will happen if we only win 14-15 games this year.

Ummm...you folks do realize that we are 12-6 and likely going to finish with 20+ wins and in the top half of the conference, right?

And, all this talk about not making the NCAA tourney without the Lawson's.

Ummm...you folks do realize that we didn't get anywhere near the NCAA tourney WITH the Lawson's, right?

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at the outright stupidity.

Tubby has done a damn good job of coaching this team.
