Class Act!
UCF and now Nebraska HC Scott Frost is truly a class individual. He made his move up the ladder with dignity and respect for his UCF players. Hope coaches Campbell and Beckman watched and learned.

Uh, how? He took his entire staff to Nebraska. Literally everyone.
And before the AAC Championship game (so before he was even announced as Nebraska's new coach), his staff was telling UCF recruits that they would recruit them at Nebraska. Yea, that's classy.
Frost was doing the things that people here were crucifying Campbell for (even though there was no evidence he was already interviewing/looking ahead, only speculation). Frost was meeting with the Nebraska AD WEEKS before the AAC Championship game!

All coaches take the staff that they want with them. Frost finished what he started at UCF and didn't desert his team. Stark contrast to the coaches mentioned above and many others. Class act!

Coaches are, understandably, a paranoid lot. Beckmann, Campbell et al were immediately on the spot at their new schools. Apparently they felt, or were told, they needed to devote every minute to their new school. Frost is in a different position, a returning hero who will get every opportunity at Nebraska and was in a much stronger position to dictate terms. Nevertheless, he chose the classy route and didn’t have to, so kudos.

I would add that nobody was surprised that Frost was the choice at Nebraska. Nobody. I have friends in Orlando and they knew, far before it was official, that Frost was gone. He was clearly the heir apparent the moment he set foot on the UCF campus. He fulfilled his end of the bargain by turning UCF into a winner. The Campbell and Iowa State courtship, however, was not really expected and caught folks in the Rocket football program & athletic department a bit off guard.

I agree, Frost didn't do UCF any favors. Who knows what is left at UCF for next year. I think the new coach will have his hands full trying to get players to come to UCF, also Matt Campbell is a class person and a GREAT coach. To bad MOB wouldn't come up with more money for Campbell's asst coaches. All you have to do is look at what they all did this season.

Lol! MC had accepted the ISU job before the WMU game that year. MOB offered more dollars but MC and his agent turned it down. Coaches come and go... Just refreshing to see one that moves on with class.

Wow, now that's something you don't see every day. Good for him and UCF. Too bad Matty Cash Campbell did the complete opposite with us...2015 will always be the season of what could have been had our head coach not quit & ditched his own team at the very end when we needed him the most. What a guy Campbell is. I hope Frost ends up dominating the Big Ten, he really put UCF on the national map (as did their AD by moving them out of the MAC).

Oh, FFS. The only reason he coached the bowl game was to help his recruiting at Nebraska. People thinking Frost is "classy" while MC is not are fvcking nuts. Campbell did absolutely nothing wrong. He did what 95% of head coaches do when changing a job.
If MC told recruits - while he was still a coach at Toledo! - that he would recruit them at his next school, people would crucify him.
If MC had met with the Iowa State AD WEEKS before the regular season was over, the night before a game, people would be calling for his head.
People need to stop being so damn butt-hurt because a coach left and quadrupled his salary and was able to get huge raises for his assistant coaches.

There are only a small handful of people who really know what Campbell said & did on his quest to leave Toledo. And I doubt that either you or I are on that list. Would you agree with that?

Make-up whatever excuses you need but it's really fun watching you get "butt-hurt" over opinions that affect nothing. It's not really even of interest anymore why you get so upset over these opinions but I think you pretty much guarantee the upset over HOW and WHEN (not "why") he left will be expressed on this board as long as you exist. You've made it too much sport.
If you don't want to read them, don't want them expressed on this board then one possible way to see them diminish might be to agree to disagree. Just recognize how normal human beings might have that POV, address their concerns honestly instead of, well what you do. Once the "debate" goes away, generally so does the human need to re-express the opinion.
Human beings, what funny creatures.

RE: Class Act!
When I think of the situation with Cambell vs. Frost actions - the 3 most salient points are these: (1) Campbell made it publicly known that he was interested in Iowa State when Toledo played there during the season. In his interview, he was quoted as saying to his wife that it was a wonderful place and where he would love to be at. (2) Frost played at Nebraska and had a connection to the school as an alumni. It is also a football school that has lost a lot of luster that he would like to restore. Campbell had no connection to Iowa State at all other than the strangely well placed and timely comment about how wonderful it was. I'm sure the interview was not the first time he made that known to someone. (3) Frost had his team ready to play and they were not distracted and took a huge win over Auburn. His team was undefeated, won the conference and the bowl game. Campbell did not have his team ready for the most important game at Toledo in 11 years 0 which meant getting the MACC. He did not win the conference and he was not there for the bowl game. He also did take recruits with him - as Frost is likely doing. That sucks, and I don't know if any of them have signed NLI's or not. There comfort is with the coaches that recruited them - not a school for which they have likely been on campus exactly one time.
In the end it doesn't really matter. I guess I felt Campbell was using Toledo as a stepping stone only. He did not win a conference championship while here. We now have that championship under Candle, and my allegiance is to him (despite the poor bowl showing) as an alumni. I care about Campbell about as much as he cares about Toledo now - which is very little.

So far only 2 Florida guys to Nebraska. Taggart at FSU will probably hurt USF's and UCF's recruiting.

The great philosopher “dude’s gone, move on” (the one and only UT1).
Great breakdown on Matt the Process Campbell though, Moto...
IMO, MC basically discarded Toledo like a used jock strap...
