RE: Calkins weighs in..... “recruiting matters”
Guys like Martin are playing their tails off in a valiant effort to stay in the game with teams like Louisville and LSU. All for naught and another loss.

As the poundings start to pile up in the coming weeks, and they stop giving maximum effort every night, things are going to get mighty ugly.

I wish a solution was somewhere on the horizon but I haven't spotted one yet.

Same problems that were plaguing the team before the game are the same problems coming out of the game. Recruiting 4 and 5 stars be damned. It's January, you play with what you got. In the meantime, they've GOTTA do something about defending the 3 point line! The shelling must stop. Giving up 2's is one thing but the 3's are something else...and unsustainable. You're not going to beat anybody else if this continues. These Tigers are at their best when they play smart basketball and are not turning it over. Second semester now, there are some things that they should have figured out for themselves by now. It's go time.

We've had 4 stars on our teams recently that couldn't consistently hit from the outside to save their lives. Home or away. So what is brand new here about Calkins' latest pointing out the obvious screed???

Yep, better to "lower your expectations" and and sleep on "soft pillows."
