He is taking two defensive assistants with him. Our Special Teams coach is the new HC at Montana, and it is reported will take a coach or two with him as well. All in all, it is likely we lose half our staff. If we lose to Army today, can I use this as an excuse?
Hmmm...
Upon reflection, I will say "no." Here's the thing: you've more than once said Rocky Long doesn't lose to option teams (although he has lost in bowl games to Navy at both UNM and SDSU, but I digress), so if Rocky is there, don't point to a non-Rocky departure.
I'll help you out, though. Go with the recent Daily Beast exposes:

Ok, just checking to see if the Coaches leaving excuse applied to all schools, or just the AAC. I agree with you though.
Oh, and those articles were wrong. The proper term is "Corps Whore" not "Whore of the Corps."
ENTIRE coaching staff gone, grad assistant calling plays, new HC still learning the players names on day 9 vs a couple assistants moving on....yeah that's apples and apples. I am going to assume you're willfully obtuse rather than that dumb.
As far as your approval of toxic culture attacking a sexual assault complainant really, dude? Didn't your last OER have a blurb about SHARP? I sure don't want an institution with an entrenched culture like that turning out next year's platoon leaders, who will gave to, guess what, deal with he-said-she-said situations in the real world.
Still less of a concern than dirtiness at the three-star level those articles reveal
Oh brother......I have been in the military long enough to know it is never black and white, and always very grey. Furthermore, I have been in the military long enough to know that the command team is more likely to make an example out of the accused than they are to let someone off easy. As such, seeing that a Field Grade Officer conducted a 15-6 investigation, and determined that not only was there not any sexual assault, but that the sexual relationship was consensual. As such, it appears to me, that the system worked, and justice seems to have been served. Thats all.
Now, when I was a Cadet, I can tell you with 100% certainty, that I never fraternized with other females, outside of being respectful, and working together as necessary in class projects. Furthermore, as a military officer, and as a civilian professional, every female I have ever worked with has been treated with respect, but I am also cautious, due to the current climate. It is just the smart thing to do.
I have been the investigating officer for 15-6 investigations on two occasions, and can tell you that they were thorough. In each case, pressure was put on myself, and other investigators to ensure every detail was covered, and in each time, there was bias against the accused (by the Command Team), until evidence suggested otherwise.
I can also tell you, that while serving in a COIN environment, we had to justify every time we pulled the trigger, since the overall Combatant Command Strategy and National Security Strategy called for less casualties. Relating this to our current social climate, my experiences tell me, that it is likely that if there was any shed of evidence of harassment, assault or rape in this case, Cadet Bradshaw would have been ran out of there quickly.
I don't know what happened in this case, but it appears, based on the evidence, that the young lady in question was a little "free" with who she had relations with, and did not like it when she developed a reputation. Sadly, it appears she made an accusation that was determined to be unfounded. I hope lessons were learned on all sides here.
I could have been more clear, so I'll come back at this dead horse....I'm not that fussed about Cadet Bradshaw's case. I agree that he-said-she-said cases are notoriously hard. At the academies or other situations where even cocsensual activities can be an offense itself, claims of non-consensual can occur to get out of trouble. Investigation was done and I'll take that at face value.
The troubling aspect of the investigation? Initial false statements to investigators - from a cadet with pre-existing honor offenses. Nothing done.
Couple that with an administration that let A LOT slide. Bradshaw's case sits in a one- or three-star inbox for six months that coincides with football season? And then is adjudicated for a six month period that coincides with off-season? Rampant misconduct known but ignored? To the extent that guys involved with a known off campus incident can be made team captains?
All the while, they've created this hagiography around Jackson last year and this year while KNOWING that his death - a tragedy, of course - was the direct result of official tolerance of serial conduct offenses.
I'm not trying to sanctify the female cadet, but my read of the en masse treatment of her rang command climate alarm bells in my head.
It isn't one case, or one cadet. Administration demonstrating that they will sacrifice values to win at any cost. That 14 year losing streak REALLY hurt.
