Don't see the knock on him recruiting wise. Signed several 5 star kids.
Averaged a #31 rated class. At Indiana. With a lot of homegrown talent. Signed only 1 of the last 16 blue chips in-state.
Three four stars in 2009. Oladipo in 2010. Zeller in 2011. Yogi in 2012 with two more four stars. Vonleh in 2013 with three more four stars. Blackmon in 2014 with another four star. Thomas Bryant in 2015. Then two more four stars in 2016. 7 first round picks. Recruiting wasn't his problem. Keeping them was. Players left Indiana fast. Perea, Abel, Stan Robinson, and Emmitt Holt all made the tournament last year, while Indiana went to Georgia Tech and lost in the NIT. He fell out of favor. Interestingly enough, his lead recruiter for a while was Kenny Johnson, who just got fired at Louisville.
I repeat. A #31 ranking over his 9 years. At Indiana. If he's getting a #31 at Indiana...

Don't think that number tells the full story. Got the stud top 15 player he wanted, and got 3-4 year guys to supplement him. Not sure what you're trying to make #31 mean.
